Continued from:

From the authentic evidences and direct eye-witness testimonies of Authorities of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen whom even the Salafis deem as trustworthy, which we have cited in this article thus far, the following two facts have been established irrefutably:

(1) According to how ALL the Salaf-us-Saaliheen understood the Qur’an and Ahadeeth, the “Qiyaamu Shahri Ramadhan” (the prayer of the month of Ramadhan i.e. Taraweeh) consists of the minimum base of 20 raka’ts, and the only ikhtilaaf pertains to the extra 16 or more raka’ts. Furthermore, according to the “Sunnah of the Muslimeen” i.e. the Sunnah of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen, the Taraweeh prayer should begin in the early part of the night.

(2) The Salaf-us-Saaliheen were completely aware of the narrations of 8 raka’ts of “Qiyaam-ul-Lail” (the night prayer i.e. Tahajjud), which was recorded by the Imams of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen in their own Hadeeth compilations. This particular prayer would normally be prayed during the most virtuous part of the night i.e. the last third of the night, both inside and outside of Ramadhan.

To illustrate further the fact that there is a clear difference between Taraweeh which is exclusive to Ramadhan only, and Tahajjud which is prayed both inside and outside Ramadhan, according to how the Imams of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen understood the Ahadeeth which they themselves recorded in their own Hadeeth compilations, let us have a look at the second part of the statement which we quoted earlier of Ameerul Mu’mineen fi’l Hadith, Imam Ishaq bin Rahwayh, whose own Musnad also contains the narration that recommends 11 raka’ts (8 + 3 Witr) of Qiyaam-ul-Lail (the night prayer) throughout the year:

As for when the imam leads the people in one or two Tarweehahs (sets of 4 raka’ts) and then he gets up at the end of the night and sends for the people and they assemble and then he leads them after they have slept – that is permissible, when he intends thereby to perform what has been ordered to pray of the tarweehahs, and the minimum of that is 5 (Tarweehaat i.e. 20 raka’ts)… And as for when the Imam prays with them (the congregation) all the Tarweehaat in the beginning of the night, and then he returns at the end of the night and he prays with them in congregation, then that is Makrooh (reprehensible). Do you not see the saying of Umar (radhiyallahu anhu) where he said: “That (salaat) which you sleep upon [i.e. Tahajjud] is more virtuous than that (salaat) which you are standing in [i.e. Taraweeh].” For, they would stand (for salaat) in the beginning of the night, and he saw their standing (for salaat) at the end of the night as more virtuous. We only consider that Makrooh [i.e. another Jama’at after completion of Taraweeh] due to what was narrated by Anas bin Malik (radhiyallahu anhu) and Sa’eed ibn Jubair (rahimallahu ta’ala) on the reprehensibility of Ta’qeeb [praying another supererogatory Salaat in Jama’at in the night].” [Masaa-il al-Imam Ahmad wa Ishaq ibn Rahwayh]

Here, Imam Ishaq ibn Rahwayh states that if the Imam gathers the people later on in the night for congregational prayers while intending to complete the Taraweeh prayers which he had left unfinished earlier on, the minimum of which is 5 Tarweehaat (5 sets of 4 raka’ts), then that is permissible. On the other hand, if he gathers the people for congregational prayers after having already completed the full Taraweeh Salaat (whether 20 raka’ts or more), then to pray this extra Salaat in congregation is Makrooh (reprehensible). This particular Salaat after the completion of “all the Tarweehaat” should be prayed alone in privacy according to the narration of Hadhrat Anas ibn Malik (radhiyallahu anhu) which Imam Ishaq ibn Rahwayh refers to. In other words, in the second congregation, if the Imam intends to pray the Taraweeh prayers, it is permissible. And, if he does not intend to pray the Taraweeh prayers it is not permissible.

It does not take much brain cells to understand that while the completion of an unfinished Taraweeh is permissible in the later part of the night, this other Salaat after the completion of “all the Tarweehaat” which should be prayed alone in privacy, cannot be Taraweeh.

O Salafi Bidateee! What is this mysterious prayer that is not Taraweeh and which is to be prayed alone in privacy after the completion of “all the Tarweehaat”? If the Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers are one and the same, as is the stupid Salafi contention, why is one permissible in the second congregation, while the other is not? And how does one solve the conundrum of the Leading Imams of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen recommending and opting for either 20 raka’ts or 36 raka’ts or more for the “Qiyaamu Shahri Ramadhan” on the one hand, while also diligently recording in their own Hadeeth compilations the narration of 11 raka’ts (8 + 3 Witr) for “Qiyaam-ul-Lail” on the other hand? Yes, O Salafi Bidateee, there never ever existed amongst the Salaf-us-Saaliheen such a stupid Bid’ah as radically downsizing the 20 – 40 raka’ts of Taraweeh Salaat and the 8 – 12 raka’ts of Tahajjud Salaat, and combining them into a measly 8 raka’ts hybrid Taraweeh-Tahajjud “Salaat” designed for Slaves of the Nafs (base desires).

Only pathetic, deviated souls with terminally diseased hearts loaded with Kibr (satanic pride) of galactic proportions can even dare to hallucinate that they understand the Qur’an and Ahadeeth better than Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Malik, Imam Shafi’i, Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, Imam Ishaq bin Rahwayh, etc. and the Ijma’ (consensus) of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen who all understood “Qiyaamu Shahri Ramadhaan”, i.e. Taraweeh, to consist of the minimum base of 20 raka’ts, differing only on whether the extra 16 or more raka’ts are necessary or not, and who all also recognised and recorded the narrations of 11 raka’ts  (8 + 3 Witr) of “Qiyaam-ul-Lail” in their own Hadeeth compilations.

Only Bidatees and Zindeeqs (heretics) can have the audacity to hallucinate a difference between, and create a wedge between the Sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and the Sunnah of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen including the Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum) who were the ONLY direct witnesses to the Sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), and who mass-transmitted (Tawaatur) this blessed Sunnah, in perfect fashion, to the subsequent generations.

Yes, O Salafi Bidateee, neither you nor we personally witnessed the Taraweeh practice of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). It is ONLY the Sahabahs (radhiyallahu anhum) who joined Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) for three nights of Taraweeh prayers, and who directly participated in the Taraweeh prayers led by Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). And it is ONLY the Sahabah (radhiyllahu anhum) who under the direction of Hadhrat Umar (radhiyallahu anhu) re-instituted Rasulullah’s (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) exact Taraweeh congregational practice and who practically taught and conveyed this exact Taraweeh congregational practice to the Tabi’een in Tawaatur (mass-transmission) fashion – the only ikhtilaaf amongst them pertaining to whether the extra 4 raka’ts after and in between each of the 5 Tarweehah (set of 4 raka’ts) are necessary or not.

Furthermore, on the three nights on which Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) led the Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum) in Taraweeh Salaat, during which the Salaat was the talk of the town (Ummah) with the Masjid full to the brim by the final night, and from the time the Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum) re-instituted this Sunnah congregational practice, Taraweeh was a wholly public affair witnessed and participated diligently by the whole Ummah.

Perhaps these Salafis and modernists actually imagine the Taraweeh congregational prayers of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and his Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum) to have been some intensely dark, obscure and private matter that was surreptitiously enacted undercover during their era and during the subsequent era of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen, in all the mosques of the Ummah, including the Haramain Shareef (Makkah and Madinah), thus making it an extremely complex task for the Four Imams and other Imams of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen to surgically extract the exact number of raka’ts from the crowds of masses, including themselves, who all would have been participating fervently in this mysterious practice for hours on end, every night during Ramadhan?

We have the direct eye-witness testimony of Imam Ishaq ibn Rahwayh that the people of Madinah and the people of Iraq had not ceased to be upon the minimum number of raka’ts of 20 since the time of the Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum). We have the direct eye-witness testimony of Imam Shafi’i that he found the Salaf-us-Saaliheen of the headquarters of the Ummah – Makkah Mukarramah and Madinah Munawwarah – to have been praying either 20 raka’ts or the extra 16 raka’ts on top of the 20 raka’ts. We have the direct eye-witness testimony of Imam Malik that the Salaf-us-Saaliheen of Madinah had not ceased to be upon 20 raka’ts along with the extra 16 raka’ts since the time of the Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum). We have the likes of Imam Tirmidhi and Imam Tahawi confirming that the only ikhtilaaf that existed amongst the Salaf-us-Saaliheen pertained to the extra 16 raka’ts or more (differing number of raka’ts before Witr), on top of the minimum number of 20 raka’ts.

Not even a fringe group amongst the Salaf-us-Saaliheen was witnessed by these truthful and authoritative Imams of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen to have adopted the Salafi 8 raka’ts hybrid Taraweeh-Tahajjud Bid’ah “Salaat”.

Ya Bid’atee Salafee! From the undeniably authentic eye-witness testimonies of such authoritative Imams of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen, transmitted by their direct students, where was the authentic Salafi group amongst the Salaf-us-Saaliheen who was holding aloft the authentic “Sunnah” of 8 raka’ts Taraweeh as supposed by your Salafi “Deen”?

Where was the Taa’ifah Mansoorah – the victorious group – and the Firqat-un-Naajiyah – the saved sect – who was supposed to have upheld the authentic “Sunnah” of 8 raka’ts Taraweeh as supposed by your Salafi “Deen” during the most blessed of ages?

From whom did the Most Superior of Generations, including the Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum), acquire this institutionalised number of 20 raka’ts from, if it were not from Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), when even according to your deviant Salafi “Shariah” it is a manifest Bid’ah to fix or institutionalise a particular number that is not found in the blessed Sunnah?

Did the masses of Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum) who directly witnessed and participated in the blessed Taraweeh congregation of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) lounge about and wait around for a couple of hundred years for the compilations of the Muhadditheen in order to acquire a solitary Hadeeth narration before implementing what they had witnessed directly from Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), or were the Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum) the kind to diligently and fervently implement the Sunnah number of raka’ts immediately, en masse, which the subsequent generations would then have witnessed directly from them in Tawaatur (mass-transmission) manner, to then become the unanimous practice of the whole Islamic Empire which was witnessed, recorded and transmitted by all the Imams of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen?

It is absolutely impossible and inconceivable that the Most Superior of Generations including the Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum) – the very generations whom we rely on exclusively to have transmitted to us every dot of the Qur’an in perfect fashion –  could somehow have lost their bearings all at once simultaneously, en masse, and lost count of the number of raka’ts they had witnessed first-hand and been taught to pray by Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) directly, or by the Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum) directly, and the supposed 8 raka’ts of Taraweeh – as supposed by the Salafis – had miraculously transformed all over the Ummah simultaneously, during one very strange night, into the minimum of 20 raka’ts that was then subsequently witnessed and recorded by all the Imams of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen.

In light of the absolute Ijma’ of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen that Taraweeh consists of a minimum of 20 raka’ts, as conclusively demonstrated earlier, it is a laughable absurdity that each one of the numerous Salafi mutations that have mushroomed in recent times claim to regard the Salaf-us-Saaliheen as the standard and benchmark for understanding the Qur’an and Hadeeth, and claim to be the truest representatives today of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen,  hence their adopted misnomer “Salafis”. This issue in itself is sufficient in demonstrating that those who are the firmest adherents to the 4 Madh-habs are the most faithful representatives of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen, whilst similar claims made by Salafi sects are merely dastardly lies designed to dupe and rope in the ignorant masses.

Since the direct eye-witness testimonies of the Imams of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen quoted in this article testify irrefutably to the fact that the minimum base of 20 raka’ts of Taraweeh was the unanimous practice of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen, and that not even a fringe group had existed during that blessed era who had adopted the stupid Salafi Bid’ah, in abject desperation the Salafi sects of this age have been constrained to seek refuge behind a handful of opinions from Ulama of the Khalaf eras (hundreds of years after the blessed era of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen) from which support is painstakingly squeezed out for their Bid’ah.

Just observe here carefully the abject slavery of the Nafs (base desires) in spectacularly full motion. That the Salafis who profess to abhor Taqleed and who proudly profess to prefer the Salaf-us-Saaliheen over the Khalaf, are constrained to exhibit the satanic trait of quoting anomalous and isolated opinions of the Khalaf which conflict with the Ijma of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen, thoroughly exposes the Salafis’ pathetically servile Taqleed of their One and True Imam i.e. Shaykh-us-Salafism Imam Nafsaniyyat (bestial desires).

Such isolated errors of the Khalaf which invariably stem from even reliable Ulama attempting to interpret the Qur’an and Ahadeeth in a manner that conflicts with the Four Madh-habs, and which are then invariably scavenged for and clung onto, in ravenous desperation, by Ahlul Bid’ah wa l-Hawaa groups such as Salafis, fall squarely under the purview of the deathly threats sounded by Authorities of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen such as the following fatal warning by Imam Awza’ee (88 – 157 H):

من أخذ بنوادر العلماء فقد خرج من الإسلام

“One who takes the marginal opinions of scholars, has surely come of Islam!” [Related in al-Sunan al-Kubra of Imam Bayhaqi with a Saheeh sanad.]

Regarding the Salaf-us-Saaliheen being the standard and benchmark, and their superior status, we agree wholeheartedly on the following points which the Salafis also claim to uphold:

(1) We agree 100% with the Salafis – as claimed by them – that any understanding of Qur’an and Hadeeth that differs with the understanding of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen, especially one upheld by the Ijma’ of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen, is a satanic deviation.

(2) We agree 100% with the Salafis that any Ibaadah, or any manner of executing an act of Ibaadah, or any ikhtilaaf pertaining to an act of Ibaadah that was not found and accepted amongst the Salaf-us-Saaliheen is a manifest Bid’ah.

(3) We agree 100% with the Salafis that in respect to acts of Ibaadah, there is no such thing as Bid’ah “Hasanah” (beautiful innovation) in its technical meaning. All Bid’ah in relation to Ibaadah is Sayyi’ah (pure evil). Bid’ah Hasanah is valid only in its literal sense, never in its technical sense, similar to how a good, Islamic business partnership may be hypothetically called “Shirk Hasan” (a good partnership) with its literal meaning, but never with the technical meaning of Shirk.

Hazrat Umar’s (radhiyallahu anhu) use of the word Bid’ah for Taraweeh prayers was purely in a literal sense – an act that was new again after Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had halted the original congregational practice due to the fear that it might become obligatory – a fact that significantly highlights another irreconcilable difference with the Tahajjud prayers whose obligatory nature was explicitly abrogated many years earlier. Hazrat Umar’s (radhiyallahu anhu) use of the word Bid’ah was never a permission to institute any new Salaat at whim with any number of Raka’ts, such as the Salafi 8 raka’ts Taraweeh-Tahajjud Hybrid Bid’ah. Any Ibaadah or any number of raka’ts that is instituted which is not found amongst the Salaf-us-Saaliheen is a satanic and evil Bid’ah.

To illustrate this point more clearly, if another deviant modernist group today were to introduce a fast-track 2 raka’ts instant “Taraweeh” in mosques throughout the world, catering for part-time Muslims, or another deviant Salafi mutation were to institute a 4 raka’ts “Taraweeh”, stupidly citing as their Daleel the narration of 4 raka’ts that applies to Salat-ud-Duha, just like how present-day breeds stupidly cite the narration of 8 raka’ts that applies exclusively to Tahajjud, then such 2 raka’ts or 4 raka’ts “Taraweeh” would be branded a Bid’ah Sayyi’ah (an evil and satanic innovation) by the Shariah. Never can such despicable innovations be described with the term “Hasanah” regardless of how beautiful they may appear to part-time Muslims and Bidatees.

(4) We agree 100% with the Salafis that Bid’ah should never be downplayed or shelved to one side as unimportant due to “greater priorities” in the Ummah. Rather, we say with emphasis, that there is no greater priority in the Ummah then eliminating Bid’ah and other such transgressions, which according to the indication of clear Nusoos (Qur’an and Hadeeth), is one of the primary causes of Allah’s Wrath and Punishment which today is afflicting this downtrodden Ummah in the form of brutal Kuffaar tyrants and armies, natural disasters, droughts, poverty, etc.

(5) We agree 100% with some Salafis – not the new fast-growing breed of modernist liberal, hippy, airy fairy, “love for all deviations” Salafi mutations – that according to the Ijma’ (consensus) of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen, dissociation (Baraa) from Bid’atees is Waajib (obligatory). There never existed amongst the Most Superior of Generations any of the stupid calls for unity with Ahlul Bid’ah made by the hippy, liberal modernists of today.

In light of the aforementioned points which many or even most Salafis also claim to agree with, this one issue – i.e. the number of raka’ts of Taraweeh – is sufficient in exposing the Salafis as pure, wholesale Bidatees. The fact that this satanic group and ideology has been able to displace the Ijma’ of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen on the number of raka’ts of Taraweeh prayers, and dilute the huge emphasis (Mu’akkadah) the Taraweeh Salaat is supposed to have, in many places throughout the world, amply portrays their status as amongst the worst of Bid’atees. In fact, such is the crystal-clear and glittering Ijma’ of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen on this one issue, that it dispenses the need for laymen to delve into the innumerable other issues in which Salafis have been responsible for causing much confusion and deviation today, in order to identify their status as prime Bidatees.

In view of Salafism being single-handedly responsible for proliferating this byte-size 8 raka’ts, perfectly optional, Taraweeh-Tahajjud Hybrid Bid’ah “Salaat”, it should be of no surprise that the Salafi “Deen” in many other issues too is in violent conflict with the pure Deen of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen which has been mass-transmitted to us reliably only through the vehicle of the Four Madh-habs.

It should be of no surprise that Ibn Taymiyyah, the absolute champion of Salafi methodology in Aqeedah and Fiqh, was able to go against the Ijma’ of the whole Ummah in dozens of other issues, including propounding such depraved beliefs as Allah possessing several limits from various sides, Allah being actually able to sit upon the back of a mosquito, Allah having a direction and size, Hell-fire ending for the disbelievers, and numerous other beliefs of unadulterated Kufr which are currently being rabidly disseminated by Salafi sects around the world.

[See the following link for explicit quotes from Ibn Taymiyyah which thoroughly expose the catastrophic consequences of the Salafi methodology in Aqeedah:]

It should be of no surprise that Ibn Abdul Wahhab, another champion and “Mujaddid” of the Salafi methodology, was able to declare as Kuffaar and massacre countless Muslims throughout the Hijaaz in the pure name of Jihaad, as documented by his own students and historians, as well as the fact that even “mainstream” Salafi scholars today such as Ibn Uthaymin and his teacher Hamoud bin Uqla – leave aside authentic followers of Ibn Abdul Wahhab who are branded as khawarij by other Salafis/khawarij – have been able to explicitly state that it is perfectly permissible to slaughter women and children for Jihaad, hence, all over the world today, the “Jihaad” of groups influenced by the Salafi “Qur’an and Sunnah” ideology, such as ISIS, al-Qaida, Boko Haram, Pakistani Fake Taliban (as opposed to the Afghan Taliban who are still largely rigid Hanafis), etc. is characterised by brutality, mass-takfeer and massacres of civilian populations, and which is revealingly reminiscent of the atrocities of Ibn Abdul Wahhab who remains, till this day, the role-model and inspiration of ALL Salafi sects which have cancerously multiplied and spread ever since his blood-soaked crusade.

[See the following link for blood-thirsty fatwas of Ibn Uthaymin and other Salafis: and see the following link for the difference between the Afghan Jihaad and Salafi “Jihaad”:]

It should be of no surprise that in regards to (dis)respect and “veneration” (desecration) of the Auliya, the Qur’an Kareem, and the sacred heritage and symbols of Islam; in regards to the laws pertaining to Halalized prostitution (misyar “marriage”) and making into a religious pastime the marrying and dumping of multiple wives every other day; in regards to allowing countless couples to live in a perpetual state of zina (adultery) with the Salafi-Trinity maths of equating three divorces to one; in regards to Halaalizing the meat of the Kuffaar with simple invocations of “bismillah” and “yummy yum yum”; in regards to Tahaarah (purity) and an extreme allergy to washing smelly feet that are barely covered by hole-ridden tights which Salafis hallucinate to be the ‘Jawrabayn’ of the Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum) (impervious, shoe-like “socks” worn on rough terrain by the Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum)); in regards to using the same smelly feet to persistently ram into and pollute the freshly washed feet and concentration of other Musallis during Salaat; and in regards to countless other issues, Salafism and modernism have been responsible for granting Deeni (religious) legitimization to innumerable other abominations, in these worst of times, close to the Hour, during which the pure Deen of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen has already becoming Ghareeb  (strange, lone, forlorn), exactly as prophesized by Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam).

In short, Salafism, modernism, and all other ideologies that allow one to escape the inflexibility of Rigid Taqleed (tightly binding oneself) to the immutable rulings of the Four Madh-habs, provide a wide enough scope and flexibility to facilitate religious justification for just about any perverted abomination in the pure name of Islam.

The Bidatee’s time would be far better used in arranging for his Salafi bid’atee scholars to attempt to refute this Ijma’ of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen whom these “salafis” falsely claim to follow.

This particular comment was regarding some of Ibn Taymiyyah’s ramblings regarding the Sufis. Ibn Taymiyyah’s comments regarding Allah (azza wa jal) are infinitely more important. For explicit quotes directly from the books of Ibn Taymiyyah regarding Allah having several limits from various sides, Allah being able to sit on the back of a mosquito, Allah having a body, direction and size, Hell-fire ending even for the disbelievers, and numerous other beliefs of Kufr which expose the naturally catastrophic consequences of the Salafi methodology in Aqeedah and Fiqh, see the following link:

The deviant Salafi bidatee is clutching at straws in trying to soothe his own conscience and divert attention from the topic of this post – i.e. the Ijma’ of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen on Taraweeh – which reveals clearly who are the true followers of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen, and who are the false, lying claimants of being the followers of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen.

Assalamualaikum. This is what these poor fellows who blindly follow a set of their imams resort to. They start throwing abuses on you taking refuge in their half baked and false understanding of tasawwuf, tableegh and seem to pat themselves thinking they have given a fitting answer to you, even if there is not even a remotest link between the issue being discussed and their foolish utterances. I request this brother to carefully listen to talks by shaykh Yasir al hanafi on these topics attentively. Hope it will help.

Your articles are piece of [swear word edited out by site admin].your understanding of deen is very poor and lack foresight.i feel the humiliation what muslims are going through in the present timescoz of going away from the true sunnah.your tabhlighi deviancy will be rooted out very shortly from indian subcontinent.

    1. Quratul Ayn

If you think the author understanding of the deen is poor, instead of swearing in the month of the blessed Ramadan, why don’t you speak the ‘haqq’. If he has lack of foresight why don’t you bring the ‘haqq’, even better bring your scholars to refute this and show the ‘haqq’. At the end of the day, you believed the path you were on was the ‘haqq’ on your high pedestal that your pride and ego got hurt when your belief started to crumble away. Want to ask you, if you are a salafi, where is your response of the salaf. You’re all emotional, leave your emotions and bring the haqq. You deem yourself high and knowledgeable, did you ever thought about why Allah subhana wa ta’ala ahzaab is falling upon us, it’s because we choose to disobey Allah subhana wa ta’ala even when we have the knowledge. Pick and choose that’s what the lay salafi people doing, even coming to the point some are even making ridiculous ‘fatwas’. Your scholars opened the door of the self ijitihad and told lay people not to blind follow and here you are where everything under the sun is allowed as long as the lay people can justify it through Qur’an and Sunnah even the fools who justify mass murdering in the name of ‘jihad’.

Series Regarding the Number of Rakah for Taraweeh

No. 10 Is it authentic that anyone of the Khulafa prayed Twenty Rakah?

Part B: Shaykh Albaani continued commenting:

‘There is no Ijma (consensus) upon praying twenty Rakah and that which is authentic from Umar -RadhiAllahu anhu- with the most authentic Isnad in conformity to the Sunnah of the Messenger -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- which is narrated by Aeysha.
The narration of Umar is narrated by Malik in al-Muwatta from as-Saib bin Yazeed -radiAllaahu anhu- that he said:

‘Umar bin al Khattab ordered Ubayy bin Ka’ab and Tameem ad-Daaree that they should lead the people in prayer with eleven Rakah.

As-Saib said: Indeed the recitor would read two hundred Ayaat, so much so that we would lean on walking sticks due to the long prayer, we would not leave until the break of dawn for the Fajr prayer.’

        [Tamaam al-Mina. …p.252]

ADMIN NOTE: Pages and pages of irrelevant comments deleted of an extremely distraught Salafi Bidatee who has just witnessed the deviancy of his sect thoroughly exposed, and hence has completely avoided the topic of this post i.e. the IJMA’ of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen on the Taraweeh issue as conclusively proven by authentic and direct eye-witness testimonies quoted from the Leading Imams of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen.

The Bidatee’s time would be far better used in arranging for his Salafi bid’atee scholars to attempt to refute this Ijma’ of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen whom these “salafis” falsely claim to follow.

Again, the deviant Salafi bidatee is clutching at straws in trying to soothe his own conscience and divert attention from the topic of this post – i.e. the Ijma’ of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen on Taraweeh – which reveals clearly who are the true followers of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen, and who are the false, lying claimants of being the followers of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen.

Subhanallah. Salafis deviation is so clear from this article. Sincere salafis if they read this will abandon salafism immediately. Of course insincere ones are going to hate this article too much. Truth is very clear though.

  4. Ubayd

Mashallah a well written piece. The salafis never tire in their onslaught of Bida’h fatwas when they are indeed the ones that should look themselves in to the mirror. They simply want to goad legitimate innocent Muslims in to a fight with others. They are nothing but Fitnamongers that are out to divide the Four Fiqhs United Ummah. Truly the words are very precise in that they manifest Kibr (satanic pride) of galactic proportions

The Companions Best of People By Shaykh AbdulMuhsin al-Abbad al-Badr[1]

    Translated by Abbas Abu Yahya

Shaykh AbdulMuhsin al-Abbad al-Badr said regarding the Ayaah:

    <> [Tawbah: 100]

‘In this Ayaah there is news from Allaah about Allaah being pleased with the first to embrace Islaam of the Muhaajiroon and the Ansaar: and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith), and how they were pleased with Allaah. Also that Allaah prepared for them blessed gardens in Paradise, and that is the supreme success.

The Companions of the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- are the best of the Ummah of Muhammad -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- which is the best of all the nations. There are many Ayaat and Ahadeeth Mutawatira which explain their excellence and their nobility may Allaah be pleased with them and make them pleased.

Ibn Katheer said in the Tafseer of this Ayaah:

‘Allaah Ta’ala informs about Him being pleased with the first to embrace Islaam of the Muhaajiroon and the Ansaar and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith), and how they were pleased with Allaah with what Allaah prepared for them of blessed gardens in Paradise and eternal bliss.

Ash-Sha’abi said: first to embrace Islaam of the Muhaajiroon and the Ansaar: from those who attended the oath of allegiance (Bayat ul-Ridwaan) the year of Hudaybeeya.

Abu Musa al-Ashaari, Sa’eed bin Musayyib, Muhammad bin Sireen, al-Hasan and Qatadah said: they are those who prayed towards the two Qiblahs along with the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam.’

    Ibn Katheer said:

‘Indeed Allaah al-Atheem informed that He was certainly pleased with the first to embrace Islaam of the Muhaajiroon and the Ansaar and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith), so woe be to the one who hated them or cursed them, or hated or cursed some of them, especially the chief of the Companions after the Messenger, and he was the finest of them and the best of them, I mean as-Siddeeq al-Akbar, the great Khalifah Abu Bakr ibn Abi Quhafah –Radhi Allaahu anhu.

Indeed a sect from the forsaken Rafidah show enmity to the best of the Companions and they hate them and curse them – we seek refuge with Allaah from that – and this indicates that their intellects are confused and their hearts are inversed.

So where are they from having Eemaan in the Qur’aan if they curse those with whom Allaah is pleased with?

As for the Ahl-ul-Sunnah then they say, ‘RadhiAllaahu anhum’ may Allaah be pleased with them, they are those whom Allaah is pleased with, and the Ahl-ul-Sunnah curse who-so-ever Allaah and His Messenger curse, they have loyalty to the one who has loyalty to Allaah and they have enmity to whoever has enmity to Allaah, they follow the Messenger and do not innovate, they imitate and follow the Prophet and do not innovate – and this is why they are the successful Party of Allaah and His believing worshippers.’

Our Shaykh, Shaykh Muhammad al-Ameen ash-Shanqeeti -Rahimullaah- said in ‘Adwaa al-Bayaan’:

‘Allaah Ta’ala clearly mentioned in this noble Ayaah that those who followed the first to embrace Islaam of the Muhaajiroon and the Ansaar with goodness that they also enter with them under the pleasure of Allaah Ta’ala and with the promise of eternity in the gardens of Paradise and the supreme success. Allaah clarified in other places that those who follow the first to embrace Islaam with goodness, share with them in goodness, like the saying of Allaah Ta’ala:

    وَآخَرِينَ مِنْهُمْ لَمَّا يَلْحَقُوا بِهِمْ

    <> [Jumu’ah:3]

    And the saying of Allaah:

    وَالَّذِينَ جَاؤُوا مِن بَعْدِهِمْ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِإِخْوَانِنَا

    <> [Hashr: 10]

    And the saying of Allaah:

    وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ مِن بَعْدُ وَهَاجَرُواْ وَجَاهَدُواْ مَعَكُمْ فَأُولَئِكَ مِنكُمْ

    [Anfaal: 75]

It is not hidden that Allaah Ta’ala clearly mentioned in this noble Ayaah that He was pleased with the first to embrace Islaam of the Muhaajiroon and the Ansaar and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). It is a very clear evidence from the Qur’aan that who-ever cursed them and hated them then he is a deviant, opposer of Allaah Jala wa Ala, whereby he hated the one with whom Allaah was pleased with, there is no doubt that hatred for the one with whom Allaah is pleased with is opposition to Allaah Jala wa Ala – and it is disobedience and tyranny.’

    [From ‘Min Kanooz al-Qur’aan al-Kareem Tafseer Ayaat min al-Kitab al-Aziz’ p. 92 – 93]

I am a Sunni and I am not a Salafi.’

    Shaykh Salih as-Suhaymee

    Translated by

    Abbas Abu Yahya

The question: When this person begins Ruqiyah (reciting Qur’aan upon a person as a form of treatment) he says: ‘I am a Sunni and I am not a Salafi.’

    The Shaykh Answered:

‘As for the saying: ‘I am a Sunni and I am not a Salafi.’ Then this statement is contradictory!

The Sunni O you Miskeen (impoverished person) is the Salafi, and the Salafi is the Sunni. Whoever distinguishes between the two then he has distinguished between two things which resemble each other; so the Salaf are the Ahl-ul-Sunnah and the Salafeeyoon are the followers of the Sunnah, and whoever absolves himself from that then he is not a Sunni nor a Salafi!

Just because some of the people claim Salafeeyah and they do not actually exemplify it, then this does not allow you to free yourself from Salafeeyah, rather it is obligatory upon you to honour yourself by ascribing yourself to the Salaf and to the Manhaj of the Salaf, since indeed ascription to that is obligatory.

Ahl-ul-Sunnah, the Salaf, the followers of the Salaf, the Firqat an-Najjeeyah, the Taifat-ul-Mansoorah, the Jamaa’ah, the Salafi and the Sunni, all of these mean one title: and they are the Jamaa’ah, and they are similar to those whom were upon what the Prophet –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam– and his Companions were upon.

So be a serious Salafi – be a serious Salafi, just like the Salaf used to say – a Salafi ascribing to the Manhaj of the Salaf in sayings, actions and belief.

And I believe that whoever brags with this type of talk (‘I am a Sunni and I am not a Salafi.’) is very far from the Manhaj of the Sunni which is the Manhaj of the Salaf.

May Allaah give everyone the capability to obtain beneficial knowledge and righteous actions. May Allaah send prayers, peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his Family and all his Companions.’

    Who are the Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l Jama’ah..?

Compiled by Sayf ad-Din Ahmed ibn Muhammad

Many people today like to classify themselves as belonging to the Saved Sect (Firqatun-Najiyyah) – Ahl as-Sunnah Wa’l Jama’ah; but do these people really know which is the Saved Sect, from the many sects we have today? The following is an attempt to clarify some misconceptions by way of definitive proofs from the Qur’an and Sunnah, as well as quotes from the profoundly learned Classical Scholars of Islam. Know that there is only one Saved Sect in Islam, and this is the original pristine form of Islam that has been transmitted to us by Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala in his Qur’an, his Rasul (Peace and blessings be upon him), the blessed Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) and the great scholars of Islam (Allah’s mercy be upon them all) who have been following their Straight Path for more than one thousand years of Islam’s history. The first question that should be raised is: “What differentiates one sect from another sect?” The answer to this is simple and definitive! Know that the chief characteristic that distinguishes one sect from another, lies not in the differences of opinion that its scholars have attained by making ijtihad from the sources of the Shari’ah (this leads to the formation of the Madhhabs), but rather the actual belief (aqid’ah or i’tiqad in Arabic) that the scholars and laity of the sect in question are clinging onto – since the founding of their respective sect.

According to the unknown author of the book Belief and Islam (pp. 78-9), the faith of the People of the Sunnah and Jama’ah was spread as follows:

“Nowadays, some mouths frequently use the name of ‘Salafiyya’. Every Muslim should know very well that in Islam there is nothing in the name of the Madhhab of Salafiyya but there is the Madhhab of the Salaf as-salihin who were the Muslims of the first two Islamic centuries (i.e; the Companions, their successors and the followers of the successors) which were lauded in a Hadith sharif. The ulama of Islam who came in the third and fourth centuries are called Khalaf as-sadiqin. The i’tiqad (belief) of these honourable people is called the Madhhab of Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l Jama’ah. This is the Madhhab of Iman, tenets of faith. The Iman held by the Sahaba al-Kiram (may Allah be pleased with them all) and by the Tabi’un (Allah’s mercy be upon them all) was the same. There was no difference between their beliefs. Today most Muslims in the world are in the Madhhab of Ahl as-Sunnah (i.e; most Muslim’s claim to be Sunni’s). All the seventy-two heretical groups (see later for the actual Hadith and its commentary) of bid’ah appeared (mainly) after the second century of Islam. Founders of some of them lived earlier, but it was after the Tabi’un that their books were written, and that they appeared in groups and defied the Ahl as-Sunnah.

Rasulullah (Peace and blessings be upon him) brought the beliefs of Ahl as-Sunnah. The Sahaba al-kiram (may Allah be pleased with them all) derived these teachings of Iman from the source (the Qur’an and Sunnah). And the Tabi’un (successors), in their turn, learned these teachings from the Sahaba al-kiram. And from them their successors learned, thus the teachings of Ahl as-Sunnah reached us by way of transmission and tawatur (through many undeniable chains of transmission). These teachings cannot be explored by way of reasoning. Intellect cannot change them and will only help understand them. That is, intellect is necessary for understanding them, for realizing that they are right and for knowing their value. All the scholars of Hadith held the beliefs of the Ahl as-Sunnah. The Imams of the four Madhhabs in deeds, too, were in this Madhhab. Also, al-Maturidi and al-Ashari (Allah’s mercy be upon them), the two Imam’s of our Madhhab in beliefs, were in the Madhhab of the Ahl as-Sunnah. Both of these Imams promulgated this Madhhab. They always defended this Madhhab against heretics and materialists, who had been stuck in the bogs of ancient Greek philosophy. Though they were contemporaries, they lived in different places and the ways of thinking and behaving of the offenders they had met were different, so the methods of defence used and the answers given by these two great scholars of Ahl as-Sunnah were different. But this does not mean that they belonged to different Madhhabs (rather they were both from the Ahl as-Sunnah). Hundreds of thousands of profoundly learned ulama and awliya (friends of Allah) coming after these two exalted Imams studied their books and stated in consensus that they both belonged to the Madhhab of the Ahl as-Sunnah. The scholars of the Ahl as-Sunnah took the nass (Qur’an and Sunnah) with their outward meanings. That is, they gave the ayats and Hadiths their outward meanings, and did not explain away (ta’wil) the nass or change these meanings unless there was a darura (necessity) to do so. And they never made any changes with their personal knowledge or opinions. But those who belonged to heretical groups and the la-Madhhabi (those who do not belong to one of the four Madhhabs) did not hesitate to change the teachings of Iman and Ibadat (worship) as they had learned from (the books of) Greek philosophers and from sham scientists, who were Islam’s adversaries.”

Let us now see what the definition of Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l Jama’ah was according to the classical scholars of this aided, Victorious sect (Tai’fatul-Mansoorah) of Islam viz Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l Jama’ah which comprises of the Four Madhaahib Hanafi, Maaliki, Shaafi’i & Hambali.

    (1) Shaykh al-Islam Ahmad ibn Hajar al-Haytami (d. 974/1567; R.A.)

Hafiz Ibn Hajar al-Haytami defined the Sunni Muslims as follows in his book Fath al-jawad:

“A mubtadi (innovator) is the person who does not have the faith (aqid’ah) conveyed unanimously by the Ahl as-Sunnah. This unanimity was transmitted by the two great Imam’s Abu’l Hasan al-Ashari (d.324/936; Rahimahullah) and Abu Mansur al-Maturidi (d.333/944; Rahimahullah) and the scholars who followed their path.”

Hafiz Ibn Hajar al-Haytami also said in his book al-Fatawa al-Hadithiyya (pg. 205):
“Man of bid’ah means one whose beliefs are different from the Ahl as-Sunnah faith. The Ahl as-Sunnah faith, is the faith of Abu’l Hasan al-Ashari, Abu Mansur al-Maturidi and those who followed them. One who brings forth something which is not approved by Islam becomes a man of bid’ah.”

    (2) Imam Ahmad Shihab ad-Din al Qalyubi (d.1069/1659; R.A.)
Imam al-Qalyubi wrote on the fourth volume of his marginalia to the book Kanz ar-raghibin:

“One who departs from what Abu’l Hasan al-Ashari and Abu Mansur al-Maturidi (Allah’s mercy be upon them) reported is not a Sunni. These two Imam’s followed the footprints of Rasulullah (Peace be upon him) and his Sahaba (may Allah be pleased with them all).”

    (3) Imam Abdullah ibn Alawi al-Haddad (d. 1132 AH; Rahimahullah)
Imam al-Haddad stated in The Book of Assistance (pg. 40):

“You must correct and protect your beliefs and conform to the pattern of the party of salvation, who are those known from among the other Islamic factions as the “People of the Sunnah and Jama’ah” (Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l Jama’ah). They are those who firmly adhere to the way of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and of his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all).

If you look with a sound understanding into those passages relating to the sciences of faith in the Book (Qur’an), the Sunnah, and the saying of the virtuous predecessors, whether they be Companions or followers, you will know for certain that the truth is with the party called the Ashari (NB-the Maturidi’s are also upon the truth), named after the Shaykh Abu’l Hasan al-Ashari, may Allah have mercy on him, who systematized the foundations of the creed of the people of the truth, and recorded its earliest versions, these being the beliefs with the Companions and the best among the followers agreed upon.”

    (4) Imam Abdal Ghani an-Nablusi (d. 1143/1733; Rahimahullah)
    Imam an-Nablusi stated in his book al-Hadiqat an-Nadiyya (vol. 2, pg. 103):

“Jama’ah is rahma, that is, the union of Muslims on truth brings Allahu ta’ala’s Compassion. Tafriqa is adhab, that is, separation from the Community of Muslims brings about punishment from Allahu ta’ala. Hence, it is necessary for every Muslim to unite with those who are on the right path. He must join and believe like them even if they are only a small group. The right path is the path of as-Sahaba al-Kiram. Those who follow this path are called Ahl as-Sunnah Wa’l Jama’ah. It should not confuse us that many heretical groups appeared after the time of as-Sahaba al-Kiram.
Al-Imam al-Bayhaqi (d. 458/1066; Rahimahullah) said, ‘When Muslims go astray, you should follow the right path of those who came before them! You should not give up that path even if you are left alone on the path!’ Najm ad-Din al-Ghazzi (d. 1061/1651; Rahimahullah) wrote: ‘Ahl as-Sunnah Wa’l Jama’ah are those ulama who keep on the right path of Rasullullah (Peace and blessings be upon him) and as-Sahaba al-Kiram. As-Sawad al-Azam, that is, the majority of Islamic scholars, have followed this right path. The Firqatun-Naajiyyah which was defined to be the group of salvation among the seventy three groups is this true Jama’ah.’ The Qur’an al-Karim declares, ‘Do not disunite!’ This ayat means ‘Do not disunite in i’tiqad, in the teachings of beliefs!’ Most ulama, for example, Abdullah ibn Masood (may Allah be pleased with him), interpreted this ayat as above and said that it meant, ‘Do not deviate from the right path by following your desires and corrupt ideas.’ This ayat does not mean that there should be no disagreement in the knowledge of fiqh. It forbids separation which causes discord and dissension in the knowledge of i’tiqad (see Imam al-Qurtubi’s opinion later). The disagreement in the knowledge (of fiqh) derived through ijtihad in the field of practices (amal) is not a discord, because such disagreement has brought to sight the rights, the fards and the subtle teachings in amal and Ibadah (worship). As-Sahaba al-kiram (Allah be pleased with them all), too, differed from one another in those teachings that explained the daily life, but there was no disagreement among them in the knowledge of i’tiqad.”

    (5) Allamah Sayyid Ahmad at-Tahtawi (d. 1231/1816; Rahimahullah)
Allamah Sayyid Ahmad at-Tahtawi, a great Hanafi fiqh scholar of Egypt, wrote on the subject of ‘Zabayih’ in his Hashiya al-Durr al-Mukhtar:

“According to the majority of scholars of tafsir, the ayat, ‘They parted into groups in the religion,’ referred to the people of bid’ah who would arise in this Ummah. In a Hadith reported by Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), Rasulullah (Peace and blessings be upon him) said to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), ‘The ayat about the partitions into groups in the religion refers to the people of bid’ah and to the followers of their nafs who would arise in this Ummah.’ Allah declared in the 153rd ayat of Surah Al-An’am, ‘This is My Straight path, so follow it! Follow not other ways, lest you be parted from His way!’ (that is, Jews, Christians, and other heretics departed from the right path; you should not part like them!). In the 103rd ayat of Surah Al-Imran, Allah declares, ‘And hold fast, all of you together, to the rope of Allah, and do not separate!’ (see later for a brief commentary). Some scholars of tafsir said that Allah’s rope meant Jama’ah, unity. The command, ‘Do not separate’, shows that it is so and the Jama’ah are the possessors of fiqh and ilm (knowledge). One who descents from fuqaha (scholars of fiqh) as much as a span falls into heresy, becomes deprived of Allah’s help and deserves Hell, because the fuqaha have been on the right path and have held on to the Sunnah of Rasulullah (Peace and blessings be upon him) and on to the path of al-Khulafa ar-Rashideen, the Four Khaliphs (may Allah be pleased with them). As-Sawad al-Azam, that is, the majority of the Muslims, are on the path of fuqaha. Those who depart from their path will burn in the fire of Hell. O believers! Follow the unique group which is protected against Hell! And this group is the one that is called Ahl as-Sunnah Wa’l Jama’ah. For, Allah’s help, protection and guidance are for the followers of this group, and His wrath and punishment are for those who dissent from this group. TODAY, THIS GROUP OF SALVATION COMES TOGETHER IN THE FOUR MADHHABS, NAMELY THE HANAFI, MALIKI, SHAFI’I, AND HANBALI.”

It is very important to have unity in the Ummah, and to achieve this goal of unity it is incumbent that the whole Ummah has the correct and preserved aqidah of the Salaf as-salihin (may Allah be pleased with them all); since Allah will no doubt ask us about our aqidah if it is not in conformity with the divine revelation and what his Messenger (Peace and blessings be upon him) transmitted to us. The way of the Salaf as-salihin is the way of the saved sect of the Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l Jama’ah. And we should all know that the Jama’ah is the sect which has the most correct and united aqid’ah out of all other Jama’ahs. To know what is the real Jama’ah, one must look into the Qur’an and Hadith for evidence. If one was to look deeply in to this matter with an open and scholarly mind, one will come to the conclusion that this great Jama’ah is the one which is composed of the foremost scholars of Qur’anic commentary, Hadith, fiqh and other Islamic sciences; it is no doubt the Jama’ah which has had the greatest following throughout Islamic history in terms of scholars and laity, and this alone is the main body of Islam which represents the views of the great mass of believers (as-Sawad al-Azam).

    Errors & Deviation

Compiled by Sayf ad-Din Ahmed ibn Muhammad

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

All praise be to Allahu ta’ala. Peace and blessings be on His final Messenger, Sayyidina Muhammad. Auspicious salutations be on his pure Ahl al-Bayt (people of the Prophet’s House) and on all his just and devoted Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all); and last but not least praise be upon the glorious pious predecessors (Salaf as-Salihin) and their successors who are the Ahl-as-Sunnah wa’l Jama’ah (People of the Sunnah and Community) of the four existing schools of Sacred Law (Fiqh).

O you who believe! What you are about to read is of dire importance to the believer who accepts the authority of the Noble Hadith, second only to the Holy Qur’an al-Karim. I here present to the open minded believer an exposition of the mistakes and contradictions of probably the foremost Hadith Shaykh of the ‘Salafiyya’ sect, by the name of Shaykh Muhammad Nasiruddeen al-Albani. I was asked by some brothers on the status and rank of al-Albani, and fearing the declaration of Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him):

    “He who is asked something he knows and conceals it will have a bridle of fire put on him on the Day of Resurrection” (Sunan Abu Dawood, 3/3650, English ed’n);

I decided to compile this short work. Let me stress at the outset, this work was primarily compiled to correct some notions held by al-Albani and secondarily the “Salafi” sect; hence the last part of this work has been entitled: “and Other Important issues.”

This short piece of work has been edited and abridged from the four volume set which emphatically and clearly outlines al-Albani’s mistakes, contradictions, slanders and even lies in the honourable and sacred Islamic Science of Hadith (Uloom al Hadith), by the well known scholar, Al-Shaykh Hasan ibn Ali al-Saqqaf (may Allah reward him for his effort) of Amman, Jordan; from his work entitled: “Tanaqadat al-Albani al-Wadihat” (The Clear Contradictions of al-Albani).

So as to enlighten the reader who is unaware of al-Albani’s status, the following is a short biography as given in the inside back cover of the English translation of al-Albani’s booklet by the title ‘Adaab uz Zufaaf’ (The Etiquettes of Marriage and Wedding) as published by his followers in England (viz.: “Jami’at Ihyaa Minhaj al Sunnah”) :-

“Muhammad Naasir-ud-Deen Al-Albani was born in the city of Ashkodera, capital of Albania in 1914 CE. While he was young his parents migrated with him to Damascus, Syria. From an early age he became fascinated by the science of Hadith and thereafter spent his time devoted to seeking knowledge. In later life he was given Professorship of Hadith at the Islamic University of Madinah. He is well known to students and scholars for his knowledge and writings. He has many well known students and has visited places through out the Middle East and Europe. He was forced to migrate from Syria to Jordan. He has been of enormous service to the Prophetic Hadith, taking great pains to check and sort out the authentic from the weak and fabricated narrations. He has produced many pamphlets and books, some of them running into many volumes – on topics of great importance to the Muslims – and has fully checked many of the famous books of Hadith – the Sunan of Tirmidhi, Abu Dawood, An-Nasai and Ibn Majah, along with Suyooti’s huge “Jami-us-Sagheer” and “Mishkat-ul Masabih”. He is the foremost scholar of Hadith and related sciences of this age.”

It is this last statement which is highly far-fetched, and it is the predominantly imaginary belief of his misguided followers in certain parts of the world. Since only Allah knows who is the “foremost scholar of Hadith and related sciences of this age.” I say this because there are others who may well be the ‘foremost scholar’. One thing that may be noticed from the above biography, is that al-Albani does not seem to have been given any authorization (ijaza) in Hadith from any recognised scholar of Hadith. I have read other biographies and asked some of his supporters in England to give me the name of al-Albani’s Hadith Shaykh; but to no avail. It seems that al-Albani “taught” himself the science of Hadith by spending many hours in the famous library of Damascus – al-Maktabatuz Zahiriyyah. In the biography written in the preface of the English edition of his work – “Sifah salah an-Nabee”, it was also stated that he was: “influenced by articles in ‘al-Manaar’ magazine.” The last named magazine was edited by the notorious freemason – Muhammad Rashid Ridah (d.1935 CE)!

Al-Albani has not made a handful of forgivable errors, but rather well over 1200, which are only forgivable if he himself admits and corrects his mistakes by repenting in front of the People of Knowledge, as well as the sincere believers who may have been relying on his ‘classifications of Hadith’. The selected contradictions from “Tanaqadat al-Albani al-Wadihat” have been derived for sake of brevity from volume’s one and two only, and whenever the symbol * is indicated, this corresponds to the original reference to the Arabic edition. The reader should also remember that whenever anything appears in brackets, then these are usually my words and not that of Shaykh Saqqaf. It should also be said that Volume 1 of the original contains 250 ahadith, in which al-Albani has said Sahih (an authentic Hadith) in one of his books and then contradicted himself by saying Daeef (a weak Hadith) in another of his books, or similar mistakes and contradictions. Volume 2 contains 652 Ahadith of the same description as the above, or similar contradictions in individual rijal (biography of a Hadith narrator) of the Sanad (the chain of transmission of a specific Hadith) of the Hadiths in question. In some instances (e.g. Vol.2, pp. 63-64), Shaykh Saqqaf shows how a Hadith narrator is ‘trustworthy’ when al-Albani wants to use a Hadith to prove something, but becomes ‘untrustworthy’ when in a Hadith used by the person al-Albani is arguing against; an extremely embarrassing mistake for anyone of any scholarly integrity. These books by Shaykh Saqqaf have already done much to pull the rug from under ‘Salafiyyism’ in Jordan and even in ‘Saudi’ Arabia, where the first volume alone has seen no less than SIX reprints in a single year alone! These books are extremely hot property that any ‘Salafi’ (or anti-Salafi) who reads Arabic will want to buy. I ask you, how many times does an inept student of Hadith like al-Albani have to contradict himself before he ceases to be of authority? Can you find even ten such contradictions in the works of the traditional memorizers of Hadith (Huffaz), those who had memorized at least 100,000 Ahadith with their sanad’s? The great scholars like Abu Hanifah, Malik, Shafi’i, Ibn Hanbal, Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi, Ibn Maja, al-Nasai, Daraqutni, Hakim, Asqalani and so on . . . . Allah’s mercy be upon them. The discerning believer should know that al-Albani has not in his memory anywhere near a 100,000 Ahadith in his memory, in fact as far as we know there is no one who is a Hafiz of Hadith today! If there is, we say please come forward and prove it, and only Allah knows best!

During the course of examining various Hadiths, Shaykh Saqqaf compared them to the written opinion of al-Albani. Eventually Shaykh Saqqaf began a compilation of al-Albani’s mistakes. He came across contradictions, supposition, inadequate research and the blatant perversion of sayings quoted from the great scholars of Islam. He was especially worried by the fact that many students and members of the youth who do not have enough or no knowledge are simply not bothering to investigate the Hadiths classified by al-Albani, are being misled into blind ignorance; even though these very people are the one’s calling staunchly and vociferously for the complete abandonment of taqleed (usually translated as “blind following” by the opponents, but in reality it is the following of qualified and verified scholarship of a Mujtahid Mutlaq [an absolutely independent scholar of the highest calibre] like the Imam’s Abu Hanifah, Malik, Shafi’i, Ibn Hanbal (Allah’s mercy be upon them) and the like, as well as the scholars who adhered to and promulgated a particular school of fiqh [Madhhab] for the greater part of Islam’s history; taqleed in simple language is the following of one of the four existing schools of fiqh). These people seem to contradict themselves, as well as displaying hypocrisy when they go around making it a priority to attack the followers of the Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i or Hanbali schools of Sacred Law; even though they themselves are practising taqleed of an individual(s)!

Bearing in mind the Hadith reported by Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Holy Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him):

“Whoever sees an evil, he must prevent it with his hand, and if he has no power for this action, then he should prevent it with his tongue, and if he cannot do this, then he should at least consider it a vice in his heart, and this is a very low level of one’s Iman (faith).” [see Sahih Muslim, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, Nasai – as recorded in Targheeb Wa’l-Tarheeb by Al-Hafiz Mundhiri, d. 1258 C.E; Rahimahumullah],

and even more explicitly from Imam al-Darimi (Rahimahullah) who reported Ziyad Ibn Hudair (Rahimahullah) saying:

“Umar (Allah be pleased with him) said to me: Do you know what can destroy Islam?” I said: “No.” He said: “It is destroyed by the mistakes of scholars, the argument of the hypocrites about the book (of Allah), and the opinions of the misguided leaders.” (see Mishkatul Masabih, 1/269, Trans. A.H. Siddiqui).

We took the liberty to forewarn and guide the many sincere believers who are turning to their faith from blundering into miscomprehension and wrong by translating selectively from Shaykh Saqqaf’s books.

In order to safe keep today’s youth from falling into heresy, Shaykh Saqqaf has embarked upon a quest to expose such a person who considers himself to be among the great scholars of Hadith like, Imam’s al-Bukhari and Muslim (Rahimahumullah), to the extent that one of his deluded followers considered him to be in the rank of the Amir al-Mu’minin fil Hadith, Shaykh al-Islam al-Hafiz Ahmad Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (the Shafi’i Imam who authored the most famous commentary of Sahih al-Bukhari and many other books, d. 852/1449 C.E; Rahimahullah).

As for Shaykh Saqqaf, the respected reader may get the impression that he has an uncompromising demeanour in some of his comments made straight after he exposes an error of al-Albani. I make no apology for his style of exposition, since many Allah fearing scholars have been uncompromising in the past when it comes to enjoining the Good and Forbidding the Evil as has been prescribed in the Qur’an and Sunnah (e.g. in the refutations against the heretical sects like the Khawarij, Mu’tazila, Shi’ah . . . . ), so long as it forewarns the general masses from accepting the falsities of the heretics and other like minded “scholars”. May be Shaykh Saqqaf considers al-Albani to be an innovator, just as his late teacher – Shaykh Ghimari (Rahimahullah) considered him to be. There are many Hadith which command us to detest the Heretics. For example, Ibrahim ibn Maisara reported Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) as saying:

“He who showed respect to an innovator he in fact aided in the demolishing of Islam.” (Bayhaqi – see Mishkatul Masabih, 1/189, English ed’n).

I hope the esteemed reader will read this short piece of work with vigilance and an open mind, especially those who have been loyal readers and supporters of al-Albani’s books and decrees. I sincerely hope that this work will be of great benefit to all who read it and pray that Allah accept it as a good deed done purely for His pleasure. I would also like to thank all those brothers who assisted me in the compilation of this work, especially to the brother who supplied me with Shaykh Saqqaf’s books.

May Allah forgive us for any shortcomings and errors. Amin.

This particular comment was regarding some dream involving Hadhrat Maulana Rashid Ahmad Gangohi which the extremely distraught, deviant Salafi Bidatee deems to be blasphemous. Such lies and slanders of the Bidatee Salafis will be dealt with in a separate post insha-Allah.

Again the deviant Salafi bidatee is clutching at straws in trying to soothe his own conscience and divert attention from the topic of this post, namely the absolute Ijma’ of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen on the Taraweeh issue as conclusively proven by direct eye-witness testimonies of the Leading Imams of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen.
