Beware of endeavouring to enrapture the audience with your talk, and to impress them, and to induce them to become ecstatic and emotional so that they later exclaim: “What a wonderful talk!” This attitude is indicative of worldly inclination. It is the effect of ghaflat (indifference and being oblivious of the Aakhirat).

Instead, you should resolve and endeavour to call people from the dunya to the Aakhirah, from ma’siyat (sin) to Taa’at (obedience to Allah), from greed to abstinence, from niggardliness to generosity, from doubt to conviction, from indifference to alertness and from haughtiness to piety.

Instil love of the Aakhirah in their hearts and make the dunya detestable to them. You should teach them how to offer Ibaadat and the principles of zuhd (abstinence).

Do not deceive them about the Karam (Munificence) of Allah Ta’ala and His Rahmat (Mercy), because their dispositions are overwhelmingly refracted from the Road of the Shariah. They are involved in pursuits which are displeasing to Allah Ta’ala and engaged in despicable characteristics.

Therefore, instil awe in their hearts. Create fear in them, and warn them of the dreadful scenarios they are going to face (at the time of Maut, in the Qabr and in the Aakhirah). Perhaps then their spiritual attributes will transform, for then their attitude and approach will change. Then will they covet and show inclination towards Taa’at and shun ma’siyat (sin).

This is the way to give wa’z and naseehat (lecture/bayaan/talk/ and to admonish). Any wa’z with a different effect is a calamity for the speaker and the audience. In fact, it has been said that such a speaker is a ghoul and a Shaitaan abducting creation from the Straight Path and destroying them.

It is therefore incumbent on them to flee from such a person because the damage caused by this speaker to their Deen is something not even Shaitaan can achieve.

And it devolves upon those who have the authority and power to bring down such a person from the pulpits of wa’z and ban him from his actions. This is part of Amr bil Ma’roof- Nahi anil Munkar (Commanding virtuous deeds and Prohibiting evil deeds)….

From the salutary and sanative advice proffered by Imaam Ghazaali (Rahmatullah alayh) to his Student, it should be readily understandable that the objective of a wa’z/bayaan/lecture is to strengthen man’s bond with Allah Ta’ala. The very opposite is the agenda of the facebook molvis and sheikhs who are veritable shayaateen (devils) as pointed out by Imaam Ghazaali (Rahmatullah alayh). The motive of the facebook shayaateen is to impress the audiences with their ‘eloquence’ and style of acquittal designed for the attainment of nafsaani cravings – monetary gain and self-aggrandizement – hub-e-maal and hub-e-jaah.

Imaam Ghazaali has sounded a sombre warning for listening to the talks of these shayaateen who appear in human form. In the words of the Hadith, while their tongues are sweeter than sugar, their hearts are the hearts of wolves. They plunder the wealth as well as the akhlaaq and Imaan of Muslims. It is therefore, haraam to listen to the talks of these vile facebook molvis and sheikhs.

Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:

“After me there shall appear imaams (molvis and sheikhs) who will not be guided by my guidance nor will they follow my Sunnah. Among them will be men whose hearts will be the hearts of the shayaateen in human bodies.” (Muslim)

“There are callers (among these fraud molvis and sheikhs) at the gates of Jahannam. Whoever answers their call, they will cast him into it (into the Fire of Jahannam with their deception).” (Mishkaat)

Commenting on this Hadith Mullah Ali Qaari (Rahmatullah alayh) says: The Callers at the gates of Jahannam: They will be a group (of ulama-e-soo’) who will call people towards dhalaalah (deviation). They will prevent them from guidance with a variety of confusions. They will divert people from goodness to evil, from the Sunnah to bid’ah, from zuhd (abstinence) to raghbat (indulgence in the dunya). Every kind of deception/confusion is representative of a gate of Jahannam. They will call to Jahannam, i.e. towards such dhalaalah which directs to Jahannam thereby they will cast into Jahannam the one who answers their call.”

Describing these devils in human bodies, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “They will be from amongst us, speak our language.” Commenting, Mullah Ali Qaari says: “They will speak (eloquently) in Arabic or will be giving talks of mawaaiz and hikam (i.e. Deeni naseehat) or what Allah and His Rasool said whilst their hearts will be bereft of any goodness. They will disgorge with their tongues what is not in their hearts.”

Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:

“In the latter days the devout ones (Sufis) will be ignorant and the Ulama immoral”

Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:

“Islam began as something Ghareeb (strange, lone, forlorn) and will revert to being Ghareeb (strange, lone, forlorn) as it began, so give glad tidings to the strangers.”

Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:

“A time will soon dawn when the worst of the people under the canopy of the sky will be their Ulama. From them will emerge fitnah, and the fitnah will rebound on them.”

Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:

“The Saalihoon will depart (from the world) one after the other  (in quick succession). Then  there will remain only Scum (rubbish/flotsam) such as the rubbish of  barley or Dates. Allah will have no care whatsoever for them.”

Hazrat Abu Hazim al-Ashja’i (rahmatullahi alayh) adequately describes here the state of affairs in these worst of ages in which people are easily seduced by the sweet tongues of the Shayateen masquerading as scholars delivering their Satanic Call, which they term “Dawah”, on Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, Nasheed Concerts, Night-Clubs, etc.

“If you find yourself in a time where speech is regarded as knowledge, and knowledge is regarded as deeds, then you are in the worst of times, with the worst of people.”

Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood (radhiyallahu anhu):

“No day will come upon you except it will be worse than the day before it, till the Final Hour is established. I do not mean that the means of living will become worse nor do I mean the wealth that benefits [i.e people]. However (it means) no day will come upon you but it will be lesser in Ilm (Knowledge of the Deen) than the one which passed before it. Thus, when the Ulama (i.e. REAL Ulama such as those who had upheld the ruling of the Aimmah-e-Mujtahideen for 1400 years) pass away, the people will become equal (i.e. the “Ulama” will become more or less equivalent to the “Juhala”). Hence, they will not perform Amr bi’l Ma’roof wa Nahy anil Munkar (Enjoining the Good and Prohibiting the breaking of Allah’s Sacred Laws). At that time they will become destroyed.”

And in another narration:

“It is not because of rains or scarcity of rains but it will be because of the passing away of Ulama (i.e. real Ulama). Then a people will come who will give fatwas (i.e. not-so-real “Ulama”) on matters from their personal opinion so they will puncture Islam and destroy it.”

The words of Hazrat Ibn Mas’ood (radhiyallahu anhu) that, “A people will come who will give fatwas on matters from their personal opinion” precisely fits the “Ulama” of these times who issue fatwas based on their own stupid, man-made logic, and based on their own understanding of the Qur’an and Ahadeeth which conflicts with the ONLY correct understanding of the Qur’an and Ahadeeth – i.e. the understanding of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen as transmitted and upheld by the Fuqaha of all Four Madh-habs for 1400 years.

And, as indicated by the words of Hazrat Ibn Mas’ood (radhiyallahu anhu), the natural consequence of not preventing the breaking of Allah’s sacred Laws is utter destruction. And how can prevention of evil occur if the “Ulama” today are at the forefront of convincing people that such transgressions as women’s unnecessary emergence from their homes, are not transgressions at all? Hence, today the whole Ummah is afflicted with such Azaab (Divine Punishment) of Allah which is reflected in numerous Ahadeeth such as the following:

لتأمرن بالمعروف ولتنهون عن المنكر أو ليسلطن الله عليكم شراركم فيدعوا خياركم فلا يستجاب لهم

“You people should continue to enjoin people towards righteous deeds and you should continue to prohibit them from wrong-doing (i.e. breaking of Allah’s sacred Laws as clarified by the Salaf-us-Saaliheen and upheld by the Fuqaha for 1400 years). Otherwise, Allah will place in authority over you the worst of people amongst you (e.g. Bashar Assad, Sisi, Modi, Hillary Tramp, etc). Then the most pious [Shaykhs and Buzurghs] amongst you will do Du’a (supplicate to Allah), but their Du’as will not be answered.”

[Tabrani, Bazzar, and others. Imam Suyuti classed it as Hasan. The numerous corroborants raise its authenticity]

“…O People! Indeed Allah commands: ‘Enjoin good and prohibit wrong-doing before [a time comes] you will do Du’a to me but I will not answer you, and you will ask me [for something] but I will not give you, and you will seek help from me, but I will not help you.”

[Musnad Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and others. Tirmidhi classed his version of the above Hadeeth as Hasan. Numerous other corroborants raise its auhenticity]

Yet, despite the clarity of the words of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) above, Muslims all over the world still decide to come up with their own stupid theories and answers to the following questions:

Why are Muslims all over the world being afflicted with brutal, tyrannical rulers, and other natural disasters???

Why is every Rulership all over the world increasing day by day in their discrimination and oppression of the Muslim communities under them???

How much longer are we going to continue to ignore the words of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) above and come up with our own stupid theories and scape-goats for the Ummah’s current dire situation, which are perfectly designed to soothe our own guilty consciences and deflect blame away from the root-cause of Allah’s Punishment – i.e. our own sinful and unrepentant selves????
