Who Is the World’s Most Feared Fighting Force?

Q. What is happening in Syria? Please comment on the Syrian scenario in the light of the Shariah.

A. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), commenting on the upheavals of Fitnah  which will overwhelm  people in the ages in proximity of Qiyaamah, said:  ‘Al-qaatilo wal maqtool fin naar’  (Both the killer and the killed will be in the Fire.)

This is the present-day Syrian scenario. All groups embroiled in the Syrian Fitnah come within the purview of this Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). The conflagration in Syria is not a Jihad. It is not a fight for the Deen or for establishing the Writ of Allah Azza Wa Jal.

Whilst some sincere Muslims have become entwined in the Syrian mess, the fight is KUFR vs KUFR. One kufr force is battling to replace the other kufr force. It is simply Fitnah multiplied and compounded.

Just now, the kufr forces aligned against the kufr ruling regime of Assad, have appointed the atheist kaafir, George Sabra as their leader. This communist kaafir has been appointed the leader of the so-called  Syrian National Council which is a U.S. appointed  institution of kufr and baatil set to be the government  of Syria in the expected post-Assad period.

The U.S. and its other kuffaar and fussaaq cohorts (Saudi Arabia, etc.) are the breeders, supporters and sustainers of the Syrian National Council. At the behest of the U.S.A., the atheist has been installed as the leader of the   anti-Assad fighting  groups. Can any Muslim in his sane brains expect any Islamic consequence in this satanic scenario fully controlled and directed by the U.S.?

In vile situations of this type, Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam)  had advocated  seclusion. In seclusion Muslims have to repent, reform themselves morally, progress spiritually and adopt Sabr until  the arrival of  the Divine Decree of Allah  Azza Ea Jal.

The handful of Salafi ‘mujaahideen’ who are participating in the Syrian  anarchy in the name of Jihad, are plain stupid. Since Salafis are spiritually barren, they  do not know whether they are  going forwards or backwards.  They are unable to distinguish right from left, hence they jump into just any puddle and pit of excreta in the name of Jihad. But, after  the displacement of the kufr regime of  the Assad gang of murderers, the U.S. will quickly ensure that the ‘Mujaahideen’ who are today being tolerated in Syria, are reigned in, disarmed and expelled. It will be a repeat  Bosnian scenario.

When the U.S. had decided to impose peace in the Bosnian-Serb conflagration, the handful of Salafi Mujaahideen  who had offered sincere and wonderful service and sacrifice on the battlefield  to assist their Bosnian brethren, was disarmed and booted out unceremoniously from the country.  The same scenario will prevail in Syria once the Assad gang has been  neutralized or exterminated.

It does not behove Muslims of intelligence to become trapped in the quagmire of  kufr excreta – the excreta which is today the Syrian Conflagration.

Q. 108 Scholars have signed a fatwa urging Muslims to support the Free Syrian Army. Please comment on this Fatwa.

A. The fatwa signed by “108 scholars” is an American ‘fatwa’. These very same ‘scholars’ will not issue a fatwa exhorting Muslims to support the Talibaan, As-Shabaab, the Mujaahideen in Yemen and Chechnya. But because America desperately wants a regime change in Syria to serve its and Israel’s interests, the corrupt fatwa has quickly been put together via Saudi agency. The ‘fatwa’ is another example of boot-licking by ‘scholars’ who sell Islam and the Ummah down the drain for a monetary pittance.

Q. To add to the previous letter (see addendum below for previous letter), when I referred to 'jihadis' from the Ahlul Bid'ah, I was referring mainly to the Salafi Jihadis, not the true Mujahideen of Ahlus Sunnah, who constitute a significant proportion of the Afghan Talibaan. (letter continued below...)

As a result of having spent many years in various Salafi sects, along with becoming aware of the attitude and ghairah of the Salaf-us-Saliheen towards the slightest deviations, I became convinced that there is no such concept as a ‘good’ or ‘moderate’ deviant group, regardless of the effort of Deen that group may be involved in. There is no good or moderation in deviance – one person’s idea of ‘moderate’ is another person’s idea of ‘abomination’, and vice versa.

Countless narrations and anecdotes from the Salaf-us-Saaliheen demonstrate their extreme harshness towards the slightest of deviations in the Deen, even treating the potential Imaani danger of deviated sects worse than that of the Kuffaar. One can only imagine how the Salaf would have reacted to the deviant fiqh and aqeedah of the Salafi and modernist groups of today. Even the original ‘dogs of hell-fire’, the Khawarij, did not possess the anthropomorphic aqeedah held by the Imaams of the Salafi sect – the authorities who actually define the beliefs of a deviant group (for a glimpse see: Salafi Aqeedah). The fact that such abominable deviations in fiqh and aqeedah are received widely with such indifference exposing our nifaaq, is further proof of how far this Ummah has veered away from the way of the Salaf-us-Saaliheen.

Many groups of Salafis, modernists and other Ahlul Bid’ah are involved in intense Tableegh and Dawa efforts for their cause. Many of these sects are involved in running and establishing Madrasahs (institutes of learning) which serve only to produce more ‘Ulama’ designed to propagate their deviated aqeedah and fiqh. Many groups of Salafis and other deviated groups, have been or are currently involved in what they deem to be Jihaad.

However, regardless of the ikhlaas of the Ahlul Bid’ah, and any short-lived superficial successes, I believe that all Ahlul Bid’ah sects, whether they be Salafi or pseudo-sufi, only serve to aggravate the problems of this Ummah rather than alleviate it. Allah (azza wa jal) is pure and He only accepts that which is pure. All deviations, no matter how slight, are aberrations and a primary cause for greater fitnah.

The horrific chaos, anarchy, bloodshed that have recently overtaken much of the Arab world and other parts of the Ummah, catalysed by Ahlul Bid’ah Jihadi groups slaughtering each other, exposes further the deviance and inherent harms of these groups. There are undeniably sincere brothers who may have become naively involved or unintentionally embroiled in such efforts of the Deen carried out by the Ahlul Bid’ah. Allah (azza wa jal) will judge each individual according to their knowledge and intellect, and many sincere brothers who are genuinely unaware of the baatil in their group will have acquired the ranks of the Shuhadaa.

However, as a whole, the groups of Ahlul Bid’ah invariably exacerbate the problems of the Ummah, regardless of superficial short-term gains that serve to cover up the underlying rot that lies underneath i.e. the root cause of Allah’s punishment upon the Ummah which is our flagrant obstinacy and reluctance to submit to the pure Deen – a pure Deen whose teachings have become Ghareeb (lone, forlorn, strange) and completely unpalatable to most Muslims today, as predicted by Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam).

I believe that receipt of Allah’s Nusrat (Divine Help), and withdrawal of Allah’s Azaab (Divine Punishment) which the Ummah is currently being subjected to, is dependent on complete submission and adherence to every aspect of the pure, untainted Shariah. Even the slightest deviations in fiqh and aqeedah is a cause for further Azaab upon this Ummah.

The actions of various Ahlul Bid’ah groups involved in what they believe to be Jihaad, has demonstrated the natural consequence of unfettering oneself even slightly from rigid adherence to the madh-habs. Practically anything becomes justifiable, and deemed to be part of the religion, if it serves meeting the ends. For example, since Jihad is given the status of Fard Ain by these groups, it is not unusual for teenage boys and girls to be sent abroad without even informing their parents, leave aside seeking their permission. Fatwas from major scholars permit and encourage creating chaos and anarchy. Even the killing of non-Muslim civilians for the purposes of Qisaas (equal retribution) is encouraged.

Such fatwas do not even spare Muslims since, whenever convenient, whole groups of Muslims are instantly transformed into non-Muslims on the spur of an ijtihaadi moment of any self-appointed Mujtahid. In fact, Takfeer or Tabdee’ is a very convenient tool used by these Salafi groups to justify pronouncing any group of Muslims eligible for cheating and defrauding, and even eligible for slaughtering (Mubaahud-Daam and Waajibul Qatl). Furthermore, the Salafi mindset allows one to have firm conviction that their chaotically malleable fiqh and aqeedah, which morphs and mutates according to its environs, is the Haqq.

Only political expediencies prevent such mindsets from pronouncing another group as outside the fold of Ahlus Sunnah, or Islam – while possessing complete conviction that every judgement is based on Quran and Sunnah. Thus, one will be very hard-pressed to find any Salafi in Afghanistan ever pronouncing the staunch Hanafi Maturidi Sufi Talibaan as Kaafir or Bidatis, despite the very same Salafi mindset being easily able to do takfeer on other Salafi groups of practically identical aqeedah and fiqh, in another country.

I believe that the only manner in which groups of Ahlul Bid’ah can provide benefit to the Ummah, with their inherent harms minimised, is in the capacity of subservient underlings controlled and dictated completely by the Ahlul Haqq, as was the case for some years in Afghanistan.

I hope you can correct me if I have erred in any of my statements and beliefs mentioned above.

Your ideas and beliefs as expressed in your letter are, Masah-Allah, correct. You have understood the situation correctly, Alhamdulillah. Your summing up of the Salafi mindset and actions is also correct. There is  no success in any baatil sect. May Allah keep you and your family with Aafiyat. Was-salaam. A.S. Desai

ADDENDUM – Previous part to letter above

The current tragedy and conflagration that has overtaken Syria has exposed the abject humiliating state of the Ummah, the deviousness of the kuffaar enemies of Islam, and most importantly, the natural catastrophic consequences of loosening even slightly the constraints and shackles of rigid adherence to one of the four accepted Madh-habs. I would like to mention a number of important points that have arisen recently:

1) The recent public account by the French former foreign secretary of his meeting with British ministers, which took place two years prior to the commencement of the Syrian rebellion, describing their attempt to entice France to participate in the proxy war they were then in the process of preparing against Bashar Assad, using and manipulating those whom they regard as “useful, gullible idiots” i.e. Jihadis, provides further vindication of your claim that the fatwa signed by 108 so-called scholars permitting the Syrian uprising, was an American Fatwa. As explicitly admitted by the French foreign secretary, “…this {Syrian} operation comes from far away from Syria. It was prepared, conceived, and organized {in the UK}…”  – the UK being USA’s most loyal pet poodle.

Recently, many of the scholars who had signed that same fatwa conceived and instigated by the Kuffaar, also signed a ‘an open letter to baghdadi’. In this letter are statements that reek of Kufr and western boot-licking such as the following:

“Jihad in Islam is defensive war. It is not permissible without the right cause, the right purpose and without the right rules of conduct…Hence, there is no such thing as offensive, aggressive jihad just because people have different religions or opinions. This is the position of Abu Hanifa, the Imams Malik and Ahmad and all other scholars including Ibn Taymiyyah, with the exception of some scholars of the Shafi’i school”

“The re-introduction of slavery is forbidden in Islam. It was abolished by universal consensus.”

“No scholar of Islam disputes that one of Islam’s aims is to abolish slavery.”

“For over a century, Muslims, and indeed the entire world, have been united in the prohibition and criminalization of slavery, which was a milestone in human history when it was finally achieved.”

“After a century of Muslim consensus on the prohibition of slavery, you have violated this; you have taken women as concubines and thus revived strife and sedition (fitnah), and corruption and lewdness on the earth. You have resuscitated something that the Shari’ah has worked tirelessly to undo and has been considered forbidden by consensus for over a century. Indeed all the Muslim countries in the world are signatories of anti-slavery conventions. God Y says: ‘… And fulfil the covenant. Indeed the covenant will be enquired into.’ (Al-Isra’, 17: 34) You bear the responsibility of this great crime and all the reactions which this may lead to against all Muslims.”

Those scholars who had signed the document, knowing and accepting fully the contents contained therein, have only served to expose their own deviance, modernism, and colonization of their minds by western kuffaar moral values and standards.

2) Much of the Islamic world, including many of the Salafi Jihadis involved in the Syrian anarchy, have expressed outrage at the actions of ISIS. However, much of the criticism is hypocritical, considering the fact that these so-called ‘moderate’ Salafi Jihadis  (and pseudo-Sufis who employ the Salafi methodology of scavenging for ‘minority’ opinions or performing ‘ijtihaad’) are similarly guilty of the opening the doors of Ijtihaad on issues in which the rulings of the Madh-habs appear too restricted to their chaotically varying modern needs. Just as ISIS and other Salafi Jihadis have managed to circumvent the Madh-habs’ categorical prohibition on killing of civilians, and prohibition of breaking of covenants and treaties, so too do other deviant groups circumvent the official ruling of their Madh-hab whenever it suits their needs and desires.

Since the Salafi/modernist methodology involving such tools as “Ijtihad based on Quran & Sunnah”, “Pick ‘n Mix from all rulings found in madh-habs”, “New rulings based on new circumstances”, etc. offers a unique scope to create a tailor-made ‘Deen’ to suit every individual’s unique intellect cum nafs (desires), it is completely natural for such a methodology to manufacture a malleable ‘Deen’ (religion) that continuously morphs and mutates into forms that blend in perfectly with its environment and serves its own needs – hence the ‘deen’ of ISIS and other Salafi Jihadis have adapted itself to suit the horrific, brutal environment that currently exists in Syria.

The very same methodologies that allow Salafis and modernists in the West to dress like the kuffaar, eat like the Kuffaar, alter their religion like the Kuffaar, also provide ample flexibility to legalise the committing of atrocities, treachery, breaking of covenants, and other crimes, based on ijtihad on verses of the Quran and Ahadith, and ‘minority’ opinions found within our tradition. The same trait of changing the religion is also exhibited by the many Pseudo-Sufi sects who deceptively claim to follow a Madh-hab, yet conveniently depart from the official ruling of their Madh-hab for ‘minority opinions’ or ‘new ijtihaad’ in order to justify their modernism, singing, dancing, and other bid’ah in the name of the pure Deen.

3) Being in its infancy, ISIS have yet to degenerate to the depths to which Salafi groups in Algeria descended to when they had advocated and practiced the raping of women, the slitting of stomachs of pregnant women, the live slaughtering of babies, etc. all of which were justified through Qisaas, and ‘ijtihaad’ based on new circumstances and rules of warfare.

Ample evidence emerged in the aftermath of the Algerian civil war proving that the Salafi Jihadi groups that had perpetrated such unspeakable and shocking acts of brutality had been instigated by and infiltrated by agents of the Kuffaar.

With it now being an open secret that the Kuffaar have been pumping literally billions of dollars for the cause of displacing Bashar Assad, using Jihadis to whom they derisively designate the term, “useful idiots”, it is clear to all but the most brain-dead morons that the Syrian conflagration (or ‘operation’ as the Kuffaar term it) bears all the hallmarks of Kuffaar imperialistic manipulation and infiltration.

4) Major Salafi Jihadi (non-ISIS) scholars themselves hold the opinion, or have issued fatwas legalizing the targeted (not collateral damage) mass-slaughtering of innocent civilians, including women, children and babies, for a ‘need’ or for ‘equal retaliation.’

‘Need’ includes the need to cast terror into the hearts of the Kuffaar – as Shaykh Ibn Uthaymin and others have explained in their famous fatwas. Since ISIS, and other groups such as Boko Haram who employ the Salafi “Quran & Sunnah” methodology, have only gone ahead and implemented these fatwas properly, the followers of these ‘moderate’ Salafi scholars who issued these fatwas should be praising these groups, rather than hypocritically criticising them.

Theoretically, according to the intent and logic contained in these fatwas, broadcasting live beheadings (or worse) of women, children and babies would be justified as this would both cast terror into the hearts of the Kuffaar and also fulfil the command to retaliate equally upon the Kuffaar who have slaughtered millions of our brothers and sisters.

One can imagine the metamorphosis of another natural mutation of Salafism metamorphosing itself in that intensely brutal environment doing exactly that, calling themselves ISIS-Plus, and televising live beheadings (or worse) of women, children and babies. In such a scenario it would be equally hypocritical if the current ISIS were to whine about the relative extremism of ISIS-Plus.

5) Further demonstrating the potential capacity of the modernist religion, unshackled from rigid taqleed of the madh-habs, to mutate itself into an unlimited number of permutations of ‘Deen’, the fighters and supporters of ISIS and other Jihad Salafi groups are known for their flagrant modernism and lack of Hayaa (shame). They freely broadcast Haraam videos and pictures of animate objects; they publically boast online and joke about recently-acquired concubines; they chill out playing kuffaar video games and other haraam activities; they eat and drink like the kuffar, consuming carrion (just say ‘bismillah’ and eat), alcoholic fizzy drinks, and other mushtabah (doubtful) foods; and there are practically countless more examples many of which are publicised openly without shame.

To give another small example (out of countless examples out there) that serves to illustrate the unique potential for the Salafi modernist methodology to produce a lethal cocktail of brutality, modernism, kuffaar boot-licking, and every possible aspect that runs against the grain of Islam,  there is an ardent outspoken supporter of ISIS called Shaykh Abdullah Faisal. Just a few of his horrendously absurd statements or ‘fatwas’ issued online on an official site include the following:

“Any Muslim who doesn’t give his Bayah to the Islamic State is a Munafiq and his wife is haram for him.”

“Whenever a person migrate to the dawla it’s haram for them to return to the west. To return is an act of apostasy according to shariah law.”

“Anyone who doubts that a Saudi Salafi is a kafir for cementing the thrones of apostate leaders, is himself a kafir. This is called chain takfir.”

“White folks are the only people to burn the Holy Quran and use cartoons to insult Muhammad. Something is wrong with that race.”

Yet the very same Shaykh who issued all these statements is also easily able come out with Kufr garbage in line with the other end of modernist extremism such as the following example:

“The Hadith about the Prophet Muhammad (saw) consummating a marriage with Aisha at 9 is not authentic. Please fear Allah and don’t repeat it…. Aisha was 19 when she consummated her marriage with the Prophet… Aisha migrated at age 17 and consummated her marriage 2 yrs later….   The Hadith about Aisha consummating at 9 is fabricated so fear Allah and stop lying on Muhammad (saw)”

The Syrian anarchy has exposed further the root cause of all the chaos and anarchy occurring in the Deen today i.e. the widespread abandonment of rigid taqleed of one of the four accepted madh-habs. Such widespread abandonment is in reality an integral part of the plot of intelligent Kuffaar conspirators to destroy the Ummah from within, splintering it into countless new innovated ‘madh-habs’ masquerading as a ‘deen’ adapted for the modern age.

As part of the materialisation of Rasulullah’s (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) predictions regarding the signs of the last day, many of the teachings of the pure immutable Deen, as represented by the official ruling of the four madh-habs, have already become completely unpalatable and Ghareeb (lone, strange, forlorn) to Muslims today whose minds have been thoroughly influenced, colonized and subjugated by the unprecedented ideological onslaught of modernism. As a result, every possible loophole is scavenged for by the various Salafi, modernist, and pseudo-sufi sects in order to avoid submitting to the official ruling of their Madh-habs.

In order to receive Allah’s Nusrat (divine help), the Ummah requires only a small group of sincere believers to sacrifice their desires completely and submit themselves to the full Deen. When Allah’s Nusrat does arrive, the tide will turn with unprecedented force, in the same manner the small group of ‘Ummi’ (unlettered, illiterate), ascetic, and technologically destitute Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum) acquired dominion of the whole world within a matter of years – a feat unmatched in the recorded history of mankind, achieved without modernising a single aspect of the pure Deen.

Q. Comment on what is happening in Egypt and Syria.

A. What is happening in Egypt and Syria is fitnah which is the consequence of gross transgression and rebellion against Allah Ta’ala by the Muslim populations of those countries. Currently in Egypt the ruling party is not Muslim. Whilst they have Muslim names, at heart they are kuffaar and munaafiqeen. They abhor Islam.

The Muslim brotherhood whilst a Muslim party, has strayed far from the Sunnah. They are ghair muqallideen, nevertheless, our emotional support and duas are with Morsi and his people. At least they proclaim Islam.

In Syria, two kaafir groups are fighting. One, is the extreme Shiah sect of Asad and his people. The other group consists of secularists who abhor Islam and who are fighting for a secular state. In the mix some Salafi Mujahideen are also participating. But in the end they will fail.

The population consisting largely of Sunnis who in turn consist largely of Muslims who have practically abandoned Islam, is being punished. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) has warned the Ummah of these types of Athaab which will settle on them when they turn their backs on to the Deen.

Whilst a valid Jihad is being waged against the U.S. and Nato invaders in Afghanistan, the conflagration which has engulfed Syria, Iraq, Egypt and Libya is total anarchy and chaos. Killing and plunder are the order of the day, especially in Syria currently. The upheavals in these lands have no Deeni base.

The objective of the so-called Free Syrian Army battling the brutal regime of the tyrant, Assad, is only to topple the present kaafir regime, and to substitute it with another kufr regime. Colonel Nimah of the Free Syrian Army told BBC News: “The jihadist ideology contradicts with what the FSA is fighting for.”

The FSA is fighting for the illegitimate creature called “American democracy”. The same scenarios which are prevailing in Iraq, Libya, Egypt and Tunisia will be the ultimate consequence of the destruction of the villainous, barbaric regime of Assad. Whilst many Arab Mujaahideen have filtered into Syria and are fighting alongside the FSA, their motives of Jihad will not yield the desired fruit.

Baatil and Haq cannot strike a compromise. Kufr and Imaan are poles apart. The one is the antithesis of the other. Whilst these forces with antagonistic ideologies may strike up a temporary alliance in the face of the common enemy (Assad), the pact is doomed to fail with the Mujaahideen suffering the same fate as they had in Bosnia and Iraq.

Currently, the U.S.A and the western powers are tolerating the presence of the Mujaahideen in Syria since the objective of the West is to eliminate Assad, and to achieve this aim, the Arab Mujaahideen are being tolerated and used. Joining forces with kuffaar (viz. the FSA in this case) is not Islamically logical. After the elimination of Assad, the FSA with its western backers and supporters will first turn their sights on the Arab Mujaahideen who will be hounded, rounded up, killed and expelled on the Al-Qaidah pretext.

The ta’leem of Islam is conspicuous. Jihad is only for the sake of Allah Ta’ala – to establish the Deen on earth, and to endeavour to achieve salvation for humanity in the Hereafter. There is no other motive for Jihad.

Muslims, therefore, have only two options – Jihad or Sabr. If they have the power to wage Jihad, then this option is Waajib. If they lack this power, then the next option is Sabr.

During the Sabr option, it is Waajib to concentrate on moral reformation and spiritual progress. When the greater part of the Ummah has achieved a substantial degree of morality and spirituality, then Allah Ta’ala will create the appropriate circumstances for the domination of Islam. And for this achievement the aid of kuffaar and fussaaq regimes and forces is not required. The only requisite is the Nusrat (Aid) of Allah Azza Wa Jal – Aid which Allah Ta’ala is currently withholding from the Ummah on account of the high treason of transgression in which the Ummah is grounded.

Without roohaaniyat (the spirituality stemming from healthy Imaan), there will never be any success for Muslims. As long as Muslims reject the Deen of Allah Ta’ala, they will remain bogged down in humiliation and defeat, succeeding only in killing their own kind and remaining the slaves of the Western nations. This is the lamentable scenery in all the Muslim countries, especially the Arab lands. The one glimmer of hope is the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Q. Currently in the news, we have seen the emergence of Jihadi fighters across the Middle East for example in Iraq. They mimic/imitate or have taken to them black flags with the Shahada written on them. My question is what is the validity of their group/ideology and practice in relation to statements and hadiths to give you one example: And Ahmad, Nu'aym ibn Hammad, al-Hakim and Abu Nu'aym narrated from Thawban (radhiyallahu 'anhu) that he said: 'The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu 'alayhi wa-sallam) said: 'When you see the black banners have come forward from Khurasan, then go to them even if you have to crawl over ice, for among them is Allah's khalifah, the Mahdi.' What is the reality of their practice of the black flags? Is it false? Thus what is the validity of joining them? I do not know the authenticity of the hadith presented. How do we recognise the true group who will hold the black flags which the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasalam has recognised and told us to join? There is concern that such current groups are using black flags as a propaganda tool in order to get young muslims to join their jihadi groups on the basis of the statements of the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasalam.

A. The current groups with black flags are fighting the kuffaar enemy.  In this there is no doubt. However, Imaam Mehdi (alayhis salaam) is  not in any of these groups. The Hadith does mention about the army  from Khurasan. But none of these groups is from Khurasan.  Furthermore, Imaam Mehdi will be proclaimed the Ameer whilst he will be making Tawaaf of the Ka’bah. He will then quickly assemble his army and give defeat to the kuffaar. He will move swiftly from country to country, conquering on the way enroute to Damascus where he will establish his headquarters.

Imaam Mehdi will not be holed up and fleeing from the enemy. He will fight a conventional Jihad war and defeat the enemy decisively.

We envisage that he will appear at a time when there is a total breakdown of government in Saudi Arabia. There will be no government,  and a lot of bloodshed and anarchy will prevail in the Holy Cities. This is merely our opinion. Allah knows best.

The Hadith narrations about the “Black Flags” are being used by some groups to portray themselves as the righteous army mentioned in the Hadith. Over the past centuries there were imposters who had also claimed to be Imaam Mahdi (alayhis salaam) as predicted in the Ahaadith. The same stunt is now used regarding the Black Flags to gain support by deception.

This stunt is generally employed by Salafi groups. Any group sporting black flags should not be blindly accepted merely on the basis of the black flags they flutter. The criterion is always the Shariah. Any activity and any group in conflict with the Shariah will be imposters. The righteous army with Black Flags will emerge from the east in Khurasan. Imaam Mahdi (alayhis salaam) will be in that army unknown to the Mujahideen constituting the army. This army will initiate its operations before the appearance in public of Imaam Mahdi (alayhis salaam).

Furthermore, there is no certitude regarding this army. Who will be the Mujaahideen? From which nation will they be? When exactly will this army appear, etc.? It is best to leave ambiguous what the Shariah has left ambiguous. Theories and opinions are all conjecture.

Q. The group in Iraq that is proclaiming khilafat (ISIS). Are theytakfiri salafis? Are they on haqq or are they just another plant of the kuffar? Please explain.

A. The situation in Iraq is extremely murky. We have to wait and see how the saga plays itself out. However, there appears to be an American hallmark in this ‘caliphate’ saga. To us it appears that Al-Baghdaadi is the deputy ‘caliph’. The actual ‘caliph’ is in Washington, namely, Mr.Obama. And Allah knows best. Isis is Tafkiri salafisand a dangerously deviate group. See attachment. {A detailed interview with Shaykh Nabeel Naiem, founder and participant of numerous Jihadi movements, who reveals the plots and conspiracies of the CIA and other Kuffaar organisations who have been for many decades manipulating and using gullible brain-dead Muslims and other nations to carry out their dirty work}

Q. The concept of Jihaad of the Nafs being the greater Jihaad has been accepted by Fuqaha and Auliya of all ages. Furthermore it has a strong basis in many authentic ahadith such as “Al-Mujahid (i.e. THE Mujahid) is the one who wages Jihad against his Nafs.”, along with numerous statements of the Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum) and Salaf-us-Saaliheen. The many other narrations that have reached us through weaker chains of narration only serve to bolster and corroborate the authenticity of this concept accepted by the whole Ummah. Even the Imaams of the Salafi sect believed in this concept. Shaykh Ibnul Qayyim, to prove his own stance, takes support from Hasan al-Basri and Ibn Taymiyyah, “ A person asked al-Hasan al-Basri may Allah have mercy upon him: ‘O Abu Sa‘id! What is the best jihad?’ He replied: Your jihad against your desires.’ I once heard our Shaykh (Ibn Taymiyyah) say, “Jihad of the ego and desires is the basis for jihad against the disbelievers and hypocrites. Indeed, one cannot do jihad against them unless he first wages jihad against his ego and desires; then he goes out and fights them.” Yet the brazen Kibr and arrogance of these spiritually barren Salafis and modernists today constrain them to believe that they know better than the whole Ummah, even their own Imaams, and question this concept altogether.

 A. Once when the Sahaabah returned from the Battlefield, Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “We have returned from Jihaad Asghar (the lesser/smaller Jihad) to Jihaad Akbar (the greater Jihad).” The Sahaabah asked: “What is Jihad Akbar? Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “The Jihad of the heart.”

Narrating a Hadith, Hadhrat Jaabir (radhiyallahu anhu) said: “A group of Mujahideen came to Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). He said: “Welcome from Jihad Asghar to Jihad Akbar.” They asked: “What is Jihad Akbar?” Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “A man’s mujaahadah (struggle/ jihad) against his desires.”

In another Hadith, Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “The Mujahid is he who wages jihad against his nafs (bestial/carnal desires) for the sake of Allah.”

Similar other narrations are:

“The noblest Jihad is that a man wages jihad against his nafs for the sake of Allah.”

“Your actual enemy is not the one who kills you thereby causing you to enter Jannat. Verily, his killing you is Noor for you. But, your worst enemy is your nafs in your body, and your wife with whom you sleep.”

Hadhrat Sufyaan Thauri (rahmatullah alayh) said:

“Verily, your enemy is your nafs within yourself. Therefore fight your desires more than fighting your (human) enemy.”

Hadhrat Uwais Qarni (rahmatullah alayh) said:

“Supplicate to Allah that He reforms your heart and your intention, for verily you have not treated anything worse than these two.”

Hadhrat Ali (radhiyallahu anhu) said:

“The first entity which you will miss out from your Deen is the jihad against your nafs.”

Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood (radhiyallahu anhu) narrated that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:

“Most of the Shuhada (Martyrs) of my Ummah will be the People of Beds. Allah is aware of the intention of numerous of those killed between the ranks (in the Battlefield).”

The People of the Beds are those with purified hearts. They are men of Taqwa and Thikrullaah to whom Allah Ta’ala will bestow the ranks of Shahaadat. Many will be the mujahideen who will not attain such ranks on account of the corruption of their intentions.

Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:

“A powerful man is not one who defeats (another man in combat). Verily, a powerful man is he who controls his nafs at the time of anger.”

On the occasion when Hadhrat Umar (radhiyallahu anhu) took possession of the City of Jerusalem, in a Khutbah to the Mujahideen he said:

“Reform your souls, then your outward life will become reformed. Practise (deeds of virtue) for your Aakhirat, then it will suffice for your worldly affairs.”

The narrations proclaiming the merits and imperative importance of Islaah of the Nafs are numerous, and have been narrated from the era of the Salafi Saaliheen (the Sahaabah, etc.) by all the great Ulama and Auliya. The Salafis of this age refute the validity of these narrations. In so doing they merely display their ignorance.

The evidences in substantiation of the Jihad Akbar concept are too numerous for intelligent men to deny. Only morons seek to dismiss these narrations. As long as the Mujahideen have not accomplished the Greater Jihad, they will not succeed on the Battlefield of the Lesser Jihad. The greatest enemy is the nafs. The conspiracies of this nafsaani enemy are too conspicuous to dismiss. The evils of the nafs have ruined the Mujahideen. Instead of waging genuine Jihad against the kuffaar, their focus has been removed from the objective. They are embroiled in a satanic ‘jihad’ against their own brother Mujahideen.

“Fasaad (anarchy/corruption/mischief) has appeared on the land and the ocean because of the perpetration of the hands of people, so that He (Allah) gives them to taste (the consequences) of some of their (mis) deeds, for perhaps they (the Muslimeen) will return (to the Deen in obedience).” (Ar-Room, Aayat 41)

Iraq and Syria, like all other Muslim countries, are lands of anarchy, mischief, vice and immorality. There is no strata of Muslim society free from the “fasaad” stated in the aforementioned Qur’aanic aayat. While the worst perpetrators of fitnah, fasaad, dhalaal, bid’ah, fisq and fujoor are the Ulama of this era, – the Ulama-e-Soo’ – who have destroyed the Ummah, the fitnah and fasaad are a common thread running through all Deeni institutions of this age. The fitnah of moral corruption and bid’ah has overtaken and ruined the Madaaris, the Khaanqahs, the Tabligh Jamaat, the Jamiatul Ulama outfits, and just about every Deeni organ.

However, this discussion deals specifically with the fitnah and fasaad of the Mujaahideen. Wherever they may be waging Jihad, they unleash a flood of fitnah which culminates in mutual killings to the glee and advantage of the enemies whom they are supposed to fight. The intentions of the vast majority of the Mujahideen in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Kashmir, Chechnya, etc., are undoubtedly sincere. They have taken the Pathway in the quest for the Pleasure of Allah Ta’ala. Insha-Allah, for their sincerity they will be munificently rewarded in the Aakhirah.

But, success and victory in the Battlefield are not reliant on only sincerity of intention. Sincerity is the basis, the foundation on which to raise a structure – a Fort – which will be the bulwark against the kuffaar, shaitaan and the inordinate demands and dictates of the bestial nafs of Insaan – the nafs which is man’s greatest enemy. The structure which has to be incumbently raised on the foundation of Ikhlaas (Sincerity) is Islaah of the Nafs – moral reformation and spiritual elevation. Without this Structure there is only humiliation, defeat and misery. And this is exactly the scenario in every land where fighting takes place in the name of Jihad.

The Palestinians and the Kashmiris are waging their respective ‘jihad’ campaigns for almost 70 years. But today they are weaker – morally, spiritually, politically and materially than what they were decades ago when they initiated their jihad. They are morally and spiritually degenerate, corrupt and rotten to the core, hence they come squarely within the purview of the aforementioned Qur’aanic aayat. The fasaad in their lands is the consequence of their own evil.

Senior, sincere Mujahideen commanders testify to the lamentable state of moral corruption in the ranks of the Mujahideen. They have highlighted the arrogance, pride and envy prevailing among the Mujahideen in general. Since these Mujahideen have not undergone training in Jihad-e-Akbar (the Greater Jihad) which is the Jihad against the Nafs (moral reformation to achieve spiritual elevation), they fail hopelessly in the Battlefield of the lesser Jihad, that is, the physical fight against the kuffaar enemy. A morally corrupt nafs, shorn of the attributes of moral excellence, is envious of the success of others.

Thus, we find that the ISIS group of Mujahideen cannot tolerate the successes of the Jabhatun Nusra Mujaahideen outfit. Such envy gives rise to blind anger which overshadows the intellect. Then instead of concentrating on the fight against the kuffaar enemy, the guns are turned on Brother Mujahideen. Although they recite the Qur’aan Majeed and the same Kalimah, their envy and anger develop into arrogance and pride, rendering them blind to the Aayat: “He who kills a Mu’min intentionally, his punishment is Jahannam wherein he shall dwell forever, and Allah becomes wrathful on him, curses him and prepares for him a great punishment.” (An -Nisaa’, Aayat 93)

In their frenzy of malice and arrogance ‘mujahideen’ of the ilk of ISIS have killed hundreds of Mujahideen in Iraq and Syria, and the vile, corrupt, satanic conflagration continues unabated. The filth of the nafs does not allow them to consolidate with the other Mujahid groups to present a solid front to the kuffaar against whom they are pitted. Driven by envy, malice and pride, they opt for rather self-immolation and destroying the objective for which they have embarked on the venture Fi Sabeelillaah. Moral corruption does not permit them to even heed what Allah Ta’ala says in the Qur’aan: “Verily Allah loves those who wage Qitaal (Jihad) in His Path in (united, firm) ranks as if they are a solid wall of steel.” (As-Saff, Aayat 4)

The intensity of the hatred in the ranks of the Mujahideen constrains a stronger group to disarm a lesser group of Mujahideen without the slightest regard for their safety. In fact, the malicious objective of the disarming is the elimination of the disarmed Mujahideen at the hands of the kuffaar. Thus, ISIS considered it compatible with its nafsaani jihad policy to disarm several smaller bases of Jabhatun Nusra.

This very same scenario prevails in Kashmir. The Pakistani Mujahideen groups too are arrayed against each other. The one group is envious of the success of another group. It was for this reason that on the eve of the defeat of the Russian forces in Afghanistan, the different groups of Mujahideen turned their guns on to themselves. In the aftermath of the internecine fighting, they killed substantially more Muslims – Mujahideen and civilians – than the total number killed by the Russians and its surrogate Afghan army during the more than a decade of war.

Besides the traitors who infiltrate and foster the plots of the U.S. and other kuffaar, causing considerable strife in the ranks of the Mujahideen, the greatest enemies of the sincere Mujahideen are their own corrupt nufoos which have not been purified from the pollution of bestial and carnal attributes. As for the plots of the kuffaar, Allah Ta’ala suffices. The Qur’aan Majeed assures the Muttaqeen (morally purified Muslims):

“If they plot to deceive you, then verily, Allah suffices for you (O Muhammad). It is He Who reinforces you with His Aid and with the Mu’mineen.” (Al-Anfaal, Aayat 63) “If you have Sabr and Taqwa, then their plot will not harm you in any way whatsoever.” (Aal-Imraan, Aayat 144)

Thus, the real enemy in Jihad is not the kuffaar. The most dangerous enemy is the kaafir nafs within the Mujahid. As long as he has not killed this enemy within him, he will remain the slave of the nafs which will dominate and steer the direction of the Jihad in the Battlefield. The horror of Mujahideen killing Mujahideen and Mujahideen betraying Mujahideen to the common kuffaar foe is absolutely appalling and lamentable. There is therefore no barkat in the Jihad campaigns nor such Divine Aid which is imperative for defeating the kuffaar.

“If Allah aids you, He will plant your feet firmly (against the enemy). But if He withholds His Aid from you, then who is there besides Him to aid you?” (Qur’aan)

Q. The mujahideen group known as the islamic state or simply known as dawlah have been taking alot of territory in syria and iraq ( confirmed by reliable sources and also even western media reports this) and they are applying shariah and there is peace and security in the land. Some people have launched accusations saying they are khawarij and takfeeri but they do not show solid proof for this but they use speculative accounts or he said or she said then they say one fighter did this so the whole group has done it also coming out with conspiracy theories. America recently said they intend to bomb the mujahideen in iraq to halt their advance as they fear Baghdad will fall some people claiming to be ”muslims” are happy about this due to personal dislike of the group and say may Allah kill them all (aoudhubillah). They have been accused of apparently saying to the yazidi ( devil worshipping cult in iraq) to convert to islam or die although this is a lie as the yazidis left the territories as they didnt want to embrace islam and they are starving on the mountains as they willingly left. And yesterday some americans were captured after a battle at mosul dam they say the captured man was a journalist others say he was a spy/soldier and the group beheaded them to strike fear to the kuffar it has already had a very strong impact now the british government says anyone who supports this act will go to prison. Obama has not listened to the group he says he will continue bombing them to halt their advances. Irregardless of what one thinks of the group is it obligatory to support them as they seem to be on the right path and whats the hukm on those who cheer the americans bombing them and feeling happy they get killed. Also regarding the beheading some people say its evil as they say beheading enemies is not from islam even though the sahabah did this is it a major sin for laymen to say something is not from islam when in fact it is and what about those scholars who say a similar thing?

A. The situation in Iraq is extremely murky. We shall be able to comment correctly when the saga plays itself out. We have no first hand information on the ISIS group. This group may or may not be a massive kuffaar plot just as the establishment of Saudi Arabia was a British plot.

We too feel very uneasy about this group. We cannot understand the mass exodus of the 200,000 Christian Iraqis. We don’t understand the exodus of 50,000 Yazidis, and we don’t understand the killing of Bid’ati Sunni Muslims. It is haraam to kill them on account of their Bid’ah. It is haraam to kill non-Muslims wantonly.

An Islamic state presents the option of Jizyah to the non-Muslims, and in lieu guarantees their freedom and protection. Their life, honour and property are safe in the hands of the Muslim rulers and the Muslim citizenry. An Islamic state where the non-Muslim component lives in fear is no a genuine Shar’i state.

The non-Muslim population would have gladly accepted payment of Jizyah since it would have guaranteed for them safety and a prosperous worldly life. Why would they refuse to pay the paltry sum of Jizyah when all income tax, rates, and the host of other taxes are abolished in an Islamic state? The Jizyah will be only a fraction of the bludgeoning amount of income tax and other taxes and levies which they used to pay to the kuffaar governments.

If this aspect of the Shariah had been correctly explained to them, these non-Muslim citizens would have accepted ISIS with open arms. In fact, they would have become strong supporters of ISIS if they had seen the justice of the Islamic system of government in actual play. It was inordinate fear which led to the mass exodus of the non-Muslims population. We cannot figure out a rational argument for refusal to pay Jizyah.

Even Shiahs may not be killed. They too are a non-Muslim component of the Muslim state. The non-Muslims living in an Islamic state are the target of Da’wat and Tableegh. They are not the target for Qatl (killing).  They are Allah’s Makhlooq (Creation), and every effort had to be expended to invite them to Islam.

Brother, if the Sahaabah had conducted themselves like ISIS when they had conquered the kuffaar territories, then today, you and us would not have been Muslim. We would still have been idolaters and mushrikeen – Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, etc.

It is our gut feeling – we may be wrong – that the current American bombings are an orchestration of deception to divert attention from the sinister U.S. plot underlying an intensely dark agenda to colonize Iraq and Syria with surrogate ‘Muslims’ constituting the ruling regimes, in the same way as Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Muslim world have already been colonized. All Muslim countries today are governed by kuffaar surrogates of the U.S. in particular, and the West in general.  While these puppet regimes profess to be Muslim, they are in fact Munaafiq.

At this stage it is best to sit back, spectate and make dua for the reformation of the Ummah. Supplicate to Allah Ta’ala to bless this fallen, disgraced Ummah with an Aadil Sultan who will mirror the Uswah Hasanah of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), and carry aloft the Standard of Islam in the footsteps  and in the style of the Sahaabah.

Q. I read your article regarding ISIS a few days ago and I find it necessary to clear some of the propaganda and misconceptions that has hit each and everyone of us due to the dajjali media. The saddest thing is that all the so-called Sufis hate ISIS because they are destroying the shrines, the molvis are hating ISIS because the ISIS are too harsh. The Taliban also say things like ISIS are too harsh in destroying the shrine of such great waliullahs. I don’t understand why are ISIS being criticized for upholding tauheed? Wallahi it saddens me to the core to see such attitude from us so called deeni people, leave alone the general public. I just want to clarify a few points from your article if you may allow: “An Islamic state presents the option of Jizyah to the non-Muslims, and in lieu guarantees their freedom and protection. Their life, honour and property are safe in the hands of the Muslim rulers and the Muslim citizenry. An Islamic state where the non-Muslim component lives in fear is not a genuine Shar’I state” The reality is that ISIS has offered Jizyah to the non-muslims living under their rule. They have a proper office called Ahl uz zimmah where the non-muslims are explained about the Jizyah. Thousands have accepted to pay the Jizyah and Christians praise the ISIS for providing them protection. This is the official statement from Dawlah Islamiyah ISIS to the Christians. First they called the head of the Christian community but the heads refused to come, then they issued this statement which clearly states: 1) Islam 2) Jizyah 3) Sword, and the fourth option as ihsaan on the Christians is that ameer ul mumineen Ibrahim db allows them to leave the ISIS control areas if they refuse to pay the Jizyah. ISIS moved into Mosul last month and made no secret of their plans to impose the tax. Yesterday, after Christian leaders didn’t attend a meeting called by IS leaders, IS moved on those plans, issuing a formal statement. The text of the statement was simple: We offer them three choices: Islam; the dhimma contract – involving payment of Jizya; if they refuse this they will have nothing but the sword. ISIS has imposed the Jizyah and the people who fled didn’t want to pay the Jizyah, the Islamic state let them leave, they can’t force anyone to live under them. Hundreds of fire worshipping yazidis have become muslims under ISIS due to their good conduct..

A. (1) Undoubtedly, the western media is ‘dajjaali’. However, our view is not structured on any basis acquired from the dajjaali media. A salient feature regarding the media response to the ISIS group is their (the media’s) uncanny silence and their abstention from condemning ISIS in the way their standard policy requires when dealing with other Muslim ‘terror’ groups.Their ‘criticism’ of ISIS is lukewarm just as lukewarm as the fake U.S. air strikes ‘against’ ISIS. Their lukewarm criticism is a facet of the American orchestration taking place in Iraq and Syria. Nothing of our view is the product of the western dajjaali media.

(2) Also, nothing of our view is based on ‘sufi hate’ for ISIS on account of the latter’s destruction of the shrines of bid’ah and shirk. What do you see in our view which could be associated with ‘sufi hate’ influence? The bid’ati so-called sufis hate ISIS on account of their shrines. Others condemn ISIS for other reasons.

(3) The Mujahideen of whom the ISIS personnel was an integral constituent, condemn ISIS not because of the ‘sufi hate’ element, nor because of the dajjaali media. The case of the Mujahideen has been elaborately presented by the Shaikhs and Ulama associated with the Mujahideen. They are the Ulama under whose guidance even Abu Bakr Baghdadi had operated.

(4) We do not know to which “molvis” you are referring. Our view is not based on any view expressed by any ISIS hating molvi.

(5) If the Taliban did in fact say that ISIS is “too harsh” because of their shrine-breaking, we are not aware of it. Further, the Taliban’s view is unrelated to our view. We do not base our view on the Taliban’s view.

(6) Your observation: “I don’t understand why are ISIS being criticized for upholding tauheed.”, betrays irrational bias. Who has criticized ISIS for upholding Tauheed? Were it the Mujahideen in Iraq and Syria or the Taliban or Al-Haq? If a Muslim criticizes Tauheed, does he remain a Muslim? In the lengthy statements issued by the Mujahideen Ulama is there a single criticism of ISIS for upholding Tauheed? Brother, one is required to reflect before making emotional comments. Even the bid’ati ‘sufis’ do no criticize ISIS for Tauheed. They criticize ISIS for destroying their shrines which in their religion are not in conflict with Tauheed. If the bid’ati criticism of ISIS is accepted as criticism of Tauheed, by what stretch of logic and justice can you claim that the Mujahideen Ulama who are currently criticizing ISIS do so on account of ISIS upholding Tauheed?

(7) The issue of Jizyah is not the fundamental basis on which criticism of ISIS is based. It is aJuzwi (a particular) issue. It is not because of the Jizyah mas’alah that the ranks of the Mujahideen have been so severely ruptured by ISIS.

(8) ISIS is criticized and ISIS is plodding the path of dhalaal (deviation) for having broken ranks with the Mujahideen with whom they were associated. Abu Bakr Baghdadi has become a Baaghi (treacherous rebel) against the authority of his Amir. ISIS has not offered a single valid Shar’i basis for breaking ranks in flagrant violation of the Qur’aan and Hadith which command solidifying the ranks. The unity of the Mujahideen has been severely ruptured by ISIS without any valid Shar’i grounds. A difference in methodology does not permit breaking of the ranks, disunity and defying the Amir. The Amir may be disobeyed only if his commands are in violation of the Shariah. ISIS has not presented any such argument in its defence nor has any of its supporters.

(9) ISIS is directly responsible for the severe infighting among the Mujahideen and for the killing of innumerable Mujahideen, and also for the killing of Mujahid commanders. In so doing, ISIS has been surreptitiously fostering the U.S. conspiracy. Did ISIS take to the Jihad field to kill Mujahideen?

(10) Whilst hitherto Jabhatun Nusra and other Jihad groups have explained their position, ISIS has not presented any valid Shar’i justification for its treacherous rebellion against the Amir. The breaking of shrines and the imposition of Jizyah (if the information is correct) are mere red herrings to justify the baghaawat (treachery) of ISIS. What are the grounds for justifying the act of breaking away from the Mujahideen, rebelling against the Amir and killing brother Mujahideen?

(11) The alleged good conduct of ISIS to the Yazidis does not justify the breaking of Mujahideen ranks by ISIS. It does not explain why ISIS perpetrated baghaawat towards its Amir. It is no compensation for killing Brother Mujahideen.

(12) While you have tried to favourably explain ISIS’s handling of the Jizyah issue, you have overlooked the most important aspect, namely, breaking the ranks of the Mujahideen and rebelling against the command of his Amir, which culminated in the killing of numerous Mujahideen by ISIS.

“O People of Imaan! When you meet the enemy, then be firm and remember Allah much so that you be victorious. And obey Allah and His Rasool, and do not dispute (among yourselves), for then (your hearts) will become weak, and your wind (power) will be depleted. And, have Sabr. Verily Allah is with the Saabireen.” (Al-Anfaal, Aayats 45 and 46)

“Verily, Allah loves those who fight in His Path in Ranks as if they are one solid steel wall.” (As-Saff, Aayat 4)

“Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu anhu) narrated: ‘I was in the home of Ibn Abbaas radhiyallahu anhu). He said: ‘Lock the door. Is there anyone else here besides us (i.e. the Sahaabah)?’ They said: ‘No.’ Then Ibn Abbaas (radhiyallahu anhu) said: “When you see the black flags coming from the east, then honour the riders, for verily our victory is in them.” (Then Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu anhu) said): ‘I said to Ibn Abbaas: ‘Should I not narrate to you what I had heard from Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam)?’ He said: ‘And, were you surely there?’ I said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘Narrate!’ Then I said:

“I heard Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) saying: “When the black flags appear, then verily, its beginning will be a fitnah (trial/anarchy/ mischief). Its middle will be dhalaal (deviation from the Haqq), and its end will be kufr.”

Hadhrat Ali (radhiyallahu anhu) narrated:

“When you see the black flags, then cling to the earth (i.e. remain where you are). Do not move your hands nor your feet (i.e. do not aid them in any way). Then will appear insignificant people for whom there is no consideration. Their hearts will be like pieces of iron. They will be people of regimes. They will not fulfil promises nor honour pledges. They will (ostensibly) call to the Haqq (Truth) while they (themselves) will not be people of the Haqq. Their names will be patronyms (e.g. Abu this and Abu that), and their relationship will be to towns (cities, etc.). Their hair will be long like the hair of women. (They will perpetrate their shenanigans) until they will differ among themselves. Then Allah will award the Haqq to whomever He wills.” (Kitaabul Fitan of Abu Nuaim)

ISIS is summed up in a nutshell in these Ahaadith. The spectacular rush to ‘victory’ of ISIS – their swift conquest of the city of Mosul, the flight and melting away of the 30,000 Shiah army stationed in the precincts of Mosul, and the rapid capture of large swathes of territory in Syria and Iraq and of important oilfields which are the life-support of the U.S.A. by ISIS are not without mystery. While a number of theories have been provided by people of diverse backgrounds, what appears clear is that the fellow, Al-Bagdadi is a bogus ‘caliph’, or he is the deputy ‘caliph’ while the real ‘caliph’ is sitting in Washington, namely, Murtad Obama who in turn is the surrogate puppet of the Yahood Mafia gang in control of America. The spectacular and swift gains of ISIS appears to be parts of a massive conspiracy about which the Qur’aan says:

“….Verily, their plots are such that even mountains can move (from their locations or be displaced).”

Some contend that the swift ‘victory’ of ISIS is due to Allah’s Nusrat (Aid). The facts on the ground do not support this theory. The ‘victory’ of ISIS is superficial. When Allah’s Aid arrives, no air force, no army, no nuclear power can stall and thwart it. The Victory will be a genuine Victory which will spread like wildfire and be unstoppable. It will be similar to the Nusrat which was with the Sahaabah who had spilled out from the desert to overrun the world in a matter of a decade. Like a raging storm and a wildfire they raised the Standard of Islam on shores of the Atlantic Ocean in the West, and penetrated China in the East.

What type of ‘nusrat’ does ISIS enjoy? It has not managed to take Baghdad nor has it indicated any serious concern for marching on Baghdad. It trumpets about invading and taking Spain, when it is miserably impotent to go to the aid of the Palestinians being butchered by Israel. It issues hollow and laughable threats of reaching Washington whilst Baghdad is right on its doorstep, held by a cripple, miserable Shiah rag-tag government.

The U.S.A. cannot afford that Saudi Arabia, Iraq, in fact the entire Middle East with its oil wealth, slip out of its control and influence. The U.S. will never voluntarily quit the Middle east. Its survival as a super power is dependent on Middle eastern oil wealth. The inertia and the little concern which the U.S. has displayed over the events unfolding in Iraq are uncanny and peculiar.

To kill a single commander in Afghanistan, the U.S. sends a drone and in the process kills a number of people in the house where the commander is believed to be. America has dispatched numerous drones on missions targeting individuals. It has mercilessly bombed the mud-huts of village folk and their fields. Yet, it is so complacent about the advances of ISIS whose fighters move openly in convoys of armoured vehicles which are perfect targets for easy bombing. But America desists from striking the unprotected military convoys of ISIS.

The recent couple of air strikes are ploys for covering the role of the U.S. who appears to be the handler of ISIS. If the U.S. had no role in the rise of ISIS, it would not have remained an idle spectator for so long, allowing Iraq to fall into the hands of the “terrorists”, and Iraq becoming the headquarters for “terrorists” who will soon be threatening Israel, Saudi Arabia and the other surrogate puppets of America. Despite ISIS military targets being exposed and moving in the open desert with impunity being easy fodder for U.S. warplanes and drones, America has become a backseat-spectator.

ISIS is not an Islamic Khilaafate. It is in fact an American ‘caliphate’ to serve U.S. and Saudi interests. If ISIS is a movement of Haqq and if its superficial ‘victories’ are the consequence of Divine Aid (Allahs’s Nusrat), it would have by this time overrun Baghdad, consolidating its position and bringing the entire Iraq under its domination. This would have been the immediate scenario. Without an established headquarters, it is not possible to execute the objectives of a Khilaafate – genuine Khilaafate such as the Khilaafate of the Sahaabah and the Taabieen.

If ISIS is a movement of Haqq, it would not have brutally uprooted the non-Muslim communities of Iraq. Hundreds of thousands of non-Muslims (Christians, Yazidis and Shiahs) have fled their homes. Non-Muslims in an Islamic state are the target for Da’wat and Tabligh, not for Qatl (killing). The objective of Jihad is I’laa Kalimatullah – to raise the Word of Allah Ta’ala, that is Islam. Why did the entire non-Muslim population flee? The fear of being pillaged, plundered and killed drove them to abandon their homes and the land where they had lived for thousands of years.

When the Sahaabah invaded the lands of the kuffaar, there was no mass exodus of non-Muslims. When non-Muslims in an Islamic state opt for retaining their religion, Islam imposes on them a tax called Jizyah. The benefits of this tax are welcome to the non-Muslim citizens of the Islamic state. In lieu of Jizyah, their life and property are safe just as safe as that of the Muslim citizens. They are free to retain their religions. They are exempt from military duty. A wonderful bonus is the abolition of income tax and the host of other taxes and oppressive governmental levies, fines, etc. The Jizyah is a mere fraction of the bludgeoning burden of kuffaar taxation.

Thus, there is no reason for non-Muslims to flee from an Islamic state. Since ISIS is not a genuine Islamic movement of the Haqq, and since it acquits itself brutally in the same way as the kuffaar do, the non-Muslim population took flight. If ISIS is a movement of Haqq, it would not have killed ‘Sunnis’ (i.e. Bid’atis). Bid’atis may not be killed. The process of reformation and eliminating Bid’ah is gradual. It is an academic and an educational process.

ISIS is perpetrating the same crimes of murder as had the Saudis when they were installed as the ‘Islamic’ government of Hijaaz subsequently and wrongfully dubbed, ‘Saudi Arabia’. Hijaaz is not the property of the Saudi nomads who have been transformed into royalty by their handler, Britain. Muslims should not be so gullible as to fall into the trap of any one who raises the slogan of Khilaafate and Jihad. It is now in vogue to cite the Ahaadith of the Black Flags for claiming legitimacy. Our criterion is not the ‘black flags’. The criterion is the Shariah. Any movement acting in violation of the Shariah is Baatil.
