Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) guaranteed:
“Whosoever makes the Aakhirah his (primary) concern, Allah will place his richness into his heart, and He will bring together (sort out) for him his state of affairs, and the Dunya will come to him submissively. And whosoever makes the Dunya his concern then Allah will place his poverty right before his eyes, and He will mess up his state of affairs and nothing from the Dunya will come to him except what was decreed for him.”
(Authentic Hadith recorded by Tirmidhi amongst others)
Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said,
“Allah Ta’ala said: O son of Adam, busy yourself with worshipping me and I will fill your heart with riches and alleviate your poverty (of the heart). If you do not do so, I will fill your hands with concerns (problems) and never alleviate your poverty (i.e. you will forever be in want and discontented).”

Umar Ibn Abdul Aziz (rahmatullahi alayh) advised:
“O people! Rectify your private matters (i.e. refrain from Haraam and Doubtful matters and increase your Ibaadah), and Allah will sort out your public matters.”
(Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal’s Kitab az-Zuhd)

Sufyan al-Thawri (rahmatullahi alayh) said:
“Make excellent your secret matters (i.e. implement Allah’s commands and abstain from Haraam and Doubtful Matters) and Allah will make your open matters excellent. Rectify (make right) what is between you and Allah, and He will rectify what is between you and the people.”
(Abu Nuaym’s Hilyah)
Abu Haazim (rahmatullah alayh) said:
“No servant sets right what is between himself and his Lord except that Allah makes excellent what is between him and the people, and he does not spoil what is between himself and Allah, except that Allah messes up what is between him and the people.”
